A spot you want me

Anyone dipped into the "Pleasure" documentary on Netflix? Bit American, but enjoyed this gem of wisdom last night.

"Confidence is knowing what is true

About your body, about your sexuality, about how your brain works, about the culture you live in

Joy is loving what is true

Even if its not what you were taught should be true, even if its not what you wish were true

Joy is the hard part"

Where are you are with loving what is true for you?

For so many years I tried to live life as a heterosexual, denying myself of the 'real' me.

I now live life as the 'real' bisexual me. Being true to yourself is the only way to live your life. Be yourself and be happy

A spot you want me

Yeah the line "confidence is knowing what is true" struck a real chord for me. I have felt my sexual confidence grow since becoming non-monogamous and I think so much of that is gaining clarity my body and my path to arousal.

Why do I find it hard to write the next line?

"Why do I find it hard to write the next line? "

""Confidence is knowing what is true

About your body, about your sexuality, about how your brain works, about the culture you live in"

I think the part about the culture you live in is the outlier here. In a lot of ways, the culture you live in could be completely contradictory to what you are confident in and what you believe to be true.

I think it's also a personal thing. It's what WE believe to be true, but doesn't necessarily mean it's true as a whole.

I’m so confident it’s untrue.

We’re living our best sexual lives together and with selected others.

It’s a lot of fun

I know my body is knackered, not much joy in that.

I think your right about culture, she said it, but it is maybe hard to make that match with how you see things.

And yes, perception of the same experience is very different for different folk. What is indeed "truth"

"I know my body is knackered, not much joy in that."

Yet it is clearly beautiful, you need to know that is true

Love yourself before loving another. We cannot know everything about ourselves but learn to love the good and amazing things about yourselves, see beauty everywhere, seek positive things, people, thoughts ....
