Having a chat earlier.. do you tip? For example….

A) at a restaurant..staff

B) delivery person for fast food

C) hairdresser/barber

D) taxi driver

E) others I have forgotten which I will have done

Or are you a non tipper in all circumstances…

I think it’s interesting in who we do or don’t tip…

Yes, I do, in pretty much all the examples you list. I won't if service is bad or there's an issue, but normally will - and like to, actually, as I think it's nice to show appreciation.

I do for all the above yes, I have a friend who always refuses to when we’re out together (I judge her especially since we’ve never had bad service when out for dinner together! ) so will always pay more to ensure tip is covered.

How about you OP?

All really, except the hairdresser. I go quite often though. It’s harder to tip now we pay for most things by card

I tip all of them unless the service is really bad. The one I do have to think about is my barber, he owns the place.

All of the above unless things are really bad then I won't tip. If things are just mildly bad I will do that British thing of tuting and mumbling under my breath but then leave a tip and say how wonderful things were.

Pretty much all of them. Except I dislike tipping if restaurants take it from staff. It should be for staff only

If you're serving me you'd get more than a tip

I was going to say the same and I no longer tip my hairdresser but I generally tip as long as service is not appalling. I usually tip the individuals rather than adding it to the bill. If I feel its fair to be shared then I will add to the bill.

What do you mean about ebay?

Yes I also tip car wash guys, postmen and refuge guys as well as bar and cafe staff and cleaners at hotels etc. I will tip trades people if they do a good job at home also.

I will tip, quite generously. Having worked in hospitality many years ago have first hand experience of the “customer is always right!” and buttoning your lip. My Chinese takeout delivery driver always gets a good tip and gets me a quicker delivery, really nice guy too

I did tip all and sundry but now much more conscious.. so in a restaurant yes I’ll tip staff.. extra quid for my barber, round up for the taxi driver…

The weird thing for me is that I will tip for the local small operation Chinese or Indian delivery guy.. but won’t for the big chain pizza places!

Always tip and probably over tip.

I don’t tend to tip food delivery drivers as usually I’ve paid a delivery charge.
