Why do folk block you when they

Say that they would meet you and have chatted for a while?

Gapping Fanny

People block for various reasons.

The most common reason would be that they changed their mind and to avoid the potential for abuse or pleas to change their mind they use the block button.

It’s not great, especially when you feel you have been getting on well.

It can really be lots of different reasons from not liking you anymore to not thinking they are good enough for you. It can be frustrating but hopefully another friend is there waiting for you.

It's unimportant. Thousands more haven't blocked you and may be a match. People are generally here for no commitment involvements, so keeping things simply uncomplicated is important, which includes having to make anything clearer than 'no'. Or 'yes'.

"Because they can....x"

This sums it up.

People can do whatever they want, with no repercussion, so they do.

Don't think about them any more and be prepared for it to happen again.

I don't have sexual chats or send naked or even semi naked photos to random people on the internet. The wankers and pic collectors soon bugger off when they know they're only wasting their time with me.

Blocking doesn’t bother when you appreciate that everyone has the fundamental right to choose and change their mind. I’d rather I was blocked than someone met me to be “nice” and had a horrible time.

Would be nice if we could all have the common decency to say, sorry, changed my mind, before blocking though.

Yea, I know Fab gives us an out for this, but it doesn't make it right.

"Create a burner account do you can message them and ask "

This is against the rules. If someone has blocked you, you shouldn't try to circumvent it by opening a different account. Aside being annoying, it's quite a stalkerish thing to do?!

As you chatted for some time I do feel for you, for not getting some kind of message before blocking. But non of us know what caused that final decision to block you. There’s always two sides to each story.

The reality of the site is that anyone can join at any time and then leave just as quickly. So each person will have their own motives for being on the site. Not everyone actually wants to meet, there can be more nefarious or innocent reasons to be on here instead.

As others have said you just have to move on. If they’ve blocked you they have every right as you do as well.

Good luck for the future

Agree that it’s tough when you have no explanation especially after chatting.

I’ve blocked someone before after chatting for months because they made a comment which I found both racist and offensive- I called them out on it then blocked them.

It’s easier and quicker than saying they don’t want to talk anymore?

Take it on the chin op. It the equivalent of someone turning and walking away dusting a conversation. Take the hint .

*it sounds mean like that I know, but that’s life on fab, it what ‘some’ people do. it’s a ‘polite’ no.

Que sera... buy it can frustrating.. especially when the initial conversation does not feel one way - its a waste of both sides time to then?...

I vote direct is best. Tell me why then block if you need to...

I'll try to learn. Maybe I won't, but at least there is a chance for improvement!

Things can only get ...

Count Your Blessings Cottage, Gratitude Grove

Lots of men send messages but don’t engage properly in conversation - no questions, closed comments not inviting a response, boring conversation generally all about themselves - I tell them once if they keep doing it they get blocked

Also if they log in/out and don’t open my messages then read and respond hours later or the next day

Messaging should be a pleasurable experience where you look forward to someone’s messages - if someone isn’t actively interested in getting to know me (like I do with them) I will end the conversation and block them
