I couldn't meet someone who did........

Sooo, my experience of vanilla dating sites is not what I'd call, erm? Successful. An increasingly common occurrence is people ceasing a conversation once they discover what I do for a living (it's really not bad, whatever that would be). So I ask you what job would put you off someone?

I spent a decade working for the worlds two largest O&G companies. That was a turn off for many women.

I expect working for Arms manufacturers might have a similar effect

They asked the question and I'm not ashamed of it. I deliberately avoid questions about careers before meeting anyone, but if they ask me I don't have a problem telling them. Let's face it, they've done me a favour if that's how they gauge people.

I'd not be keen on someone who worked for tobacco companies, in addition to some of the other things mentioned already (like executions). I'm dubious on arms manufacturers. I hate war but then I look at Ukraine and see that it's necessary to assist them by providing arms, otherwise Russia would just stroll across Europe...

Military for one, grew up in it you don’t get involved in it as an adult.

The one I would struggle with is a sewage worker and it’s not the job as such, just I really struggle with bad smells and I have a feeling (no experience) that no matter how much they showered after finishing work, I’d still be able to smell a hint of it

Some jobs are triggers for people’s experiences. I’ve seen that implied in the thread. I said that myself on the thread. It’s not personal, just if I knew about the person doing that job, it would be too much for me to be intimate with them personally.

"To be sensible for a minute, if you judge somebody on their job, your small minded and not worthy of their time.

Well, perhaps a funeral director would

have time for you.

We're all entitled to our preferences

True but to write somebody off because they do a job at that moment in time, is to be showing that you judge a person is the job they do.

The leader of Ukraine was a comedian.

He's not now.

I 100% judge traffic wardens. To apply for that job you’d have to be someone who likes causing misery.

Why assuming it's not private property.

If your blind stupid or arrogant or more money than sense read the signs, don't blame messengers."

Little things like being a couple of minutes late. Or washing your car outside your own property and getting a ticket. They’ve took that job with the intention of handing out fines. That takes a special kind of arse hole.

Completely agree....People are people, their jobs shouldn't factor into how we view them, most jobs are necessary to society. I find it quite sad that there are people from professions seen as negative on this thread using Fab....As if some jobs aren't tough enough. "

For me it’s not how I view them, a job is a job, I just don’t want to spend my life vomiting, which is my usual reaction to a bad smell. You’ll grow out of it when you have a kid if your own, get used to it, erm no you don’t.

Not so much job title, although I don't think I'd like the company if a politician.

More working hours as a teacher someone who worked late shifts or night shifts, it probably wouldn't work out. Having said that from past experience, I'm not very good at sharing EVERY free minute with a person so some opposite work hours would be good too

East Sussex

I can only think of someone being involved in stuff like those undercover police who deliberately get into relationships to infiltrate organisations like Greenpeace, I think they're really nasty types or leaders of countries because they need to be extremely cold hearted or people who glue themselves to roads because although they are well intentioned they are also very blinkered .
