Do your dreams affect your mood?

I had a really vivid upsetting dream last night and a huge part of it was that I couldn't protect my children from harm. I woke up feeling worried and anxious. I know I will snap out of the mood quickly though.

Do you remember your dreams and can they affect your mood when you wake up?

My dreams effect me massively i had recurring nightmares seeing someone i care about get hurt for over a year it made me extremely worried on a daily basis it broke my brain for a while and almost made me cross the line and break my word luckily i dont get those dreams now i tend to have more hopeful smiley ones

I see dreams as a film. And actually enjoy them as they break the monotony of sleep.

Oh yes. But they are just dreams, which is sad because I those sexy dreams really have me in a good mood for the day.

I’ve had so many of you fabbers in my dreams, you know when you woke aching - “I must have slept funny!’ ??? … no, that was me and my dream.

Yes absolutely! I’ve had dreams in the past where someone in my life has done me wrong and I’ve woken up so angry with them and it’s actually effected how I’ve felt about them for a short while! Of course I’ve soon shaken Myself out of it but some dreams are so real it’s difficult to turn off the emotions they make you feel, regardless of knowing it didn’t really happen.

Then there’s the sex dreams that I wake up from with trembling legs they just put me in a good mood for the rest of the morning (at least!)

Oh definitely... I've woken sobbing from dreams and the melancholy can take a few days to leave me

I did have a very funny interaction with my DD after a dream where he'd done something i thought was wrong.. I couldn't understand why he was so unrepentant and he had no idea what I was on about

My dreams are my brain processing events and traumatic occurrences in mine and close friends and families lives. Generally I don't remember the whole content just snippets and actually wake refreshed from the processing part. Very very rarely do I encounter a reoccurring dream/nightmare for which I am glad

Not necessarily the morning after, but it's a frequent occurrence that something happens in my life that I'm 99.9% sure happened in a dream in the previous months or weeks.]

Which has freaked me out on more than one occasion.

I know someone who does wake up in a shit mood at times after a dream in which I've apparently done something to piss her off.

Which of course is my fault, obviously.........

Frequently. I don't remember as much of my dreams as I used to, which is a relief as they used to be about people who were close to me who had died, or they took me back to my childhood.

I rarely have nice dreams that cheer me up for the day.
