5 years ago. I was on holiday in Greece. She sent me a text to say she needs to speak to me in person. It took me a few days to realise 'she was dumping me' ahhhh. Anyway we met, and she cried on me. Honestly women. I mean she's dumping me and she's crying! To be fair it's never easy is it? Giving bad news.

Cheated on me with her housemate (and honestly god-knows who else now) for I don't know how long, and gave some bullshit reason for breaking up with me. Oh that was also the day after we landed back from a holiday together, and that was after I'd been working abroad too

6 years ago. I'd struggled for 6 months to find a full time permanent job, all I could get was part time agency work. She moved out, turned up 3 month's later, said it was "done" and left her engagement ring on the front step. Turns out she'd been cheating with a guy who kept coming into the shop she managed, was devastated at the time, looking back I think I dodged a bullet

After two years I woke up to a text message saying. This clearly isn't working I think it's best we call it a day. I didn't respond just made a cup of tea and dunked in some bourbons. I felt better then.

I wanted to stay and talk but she said he was on his way and needed me to leave.

She lives over the road from a park so I moved my car and waited to see him… he was shorter, fatter and not her type at all….

They ended up getting married. How do I know that? Six months after the wedding she messaged me asking if I wanted to have an affair with her.

I told her to fuck off and lay in the bed she’d made for herself

Nothing personally, but an ex of mine had a friend who went to work, came home and the flat he shared with his girlfriend was completely empty. She’d left him and took everything. Didn’t leave a note, nothing. This was in the day before mobile phones.

It completely fucked him up.

I've never been dumped from a serious relationship. Her ladyship and I went through a phase of dumping each other when we first met as we were both aware that I had way top much baggageto be starting a new relationship but that was before we actually even got together properly. Nothing else besides that.

May 2020, during lockdown. He called and shouted down the phone that he was coming up to collect his holdall and that it was over. It was a complete shock, never saw it coming. I was absolutely heart broken and felt I'd been kicked in the stomach. Over the next four months, I saw his true colours and just wished I left him first. Well shot of him! x

I've experienced a dumping that took over 12 months to develop. 12 months of no sex, very little talking, lots of arguments and me asking a repeated question "shall we call it a day?" with no definitive answer. It was like death by a thousand cuts. Would have preferred an honest straight forward break up instead of wasting a year of my life !

Mid lockdown, lost my best friend and lover in one go due to her narcissistic ex using her kids as weapons and having to make a choice. It was the only way he could still get at her and ruin her life which he set out to do quite a while back. He found the one thing we could not defend on, lockdown was no help and I fought to the end. The worst dumping was quite a number of years ago. A four year relationship had led to engagement. She dumped me a few days after our engagement party. She told me she had been seeing a guy from work behind my back for quite a while. The bit that really hurt was when she told me the that at the engagement party, while I was socialising with our friends, they snuck down to the main bar and were kissing. Not just stabbing me in the back, but twisting the knife in. I now know I'm well rid but it took me several months to get over it

I hate doing it , I hate being the cause of others pain but I end up doing it a lot it sucks, I would much rather be dumped and deal with the pain myself.

Last time it happened to me was over 30 years ago , it was horrible at the time took, months , years to recover but I’m pleased she did it now

i was dumped in japan once.. all ended when she threw a copy of the lonely planet at me and got the next flight home. i stayed on and drank sake in japanese dive bars. came home to find she had moved out and taken 1/2 the furniture.

2 years later she moved back in as my tenant when she did a masters degree..
