I like me - but I absolutely get why some people don’t. I’m definitely not everyone’s cup of tea but I think my heart’s in the right place.

I struggle a little on here because it’s all so public - and in spite of me being an ‘open book’ in many aspects I’m uncomfortable with the constant virtue signalling that seems to be compulsory in todays’ society if you’re to be seen as a decent human being.

For instance - I may help a blind lady cross the road, tie the shoes of an elderly woman so she doesn’t trip up or give money to a homeless person and have a natter with them - or simply pm someone on here who’s made it obvious on a post that they’re not in a great place.

I believe that’s just something that every half decent human being does on a daily basis - and doesn’t require a post on Facebook, insta, Snapchat, twitter or indeed here.

I guess some people don’t like me because they just see the person who tends to talk too much at times - but doesn’t see the rest because it’s not so obvious.

It’s fine though - I like me - and I’m ok if others don’t.

My veris are from people who have met me. In a situation where I can communicate 1 on 1, I feel able to overcome my looks (I am a little scary looking) and allow my mind to meet theirs.

I am the product of a single mother home and as a result, have a female biased psyche. I share more interests with them than I do with men...which is compounded by my dislike of football...and find it easier to talk to female strangers.

This is mainly as a result of my inner insecurities.

The only upside of that unsuredness is a finely honed sense of humour that is my Testudo.

I do sometimes wonder how other people see me, if for instance they say something that indicates they really have the wrong idea about me altogether. It doesn't go beyond that though I just find it amusing that they have that impression.

Unless I'm going to change myself I can't see any value in knowing what others think of me.

I know I have a completely ridiculous impression of myself. I'm a shade over 5ft, 65years old and a bottle blonde, I don't suffer fools and I'm inwardly rolling my eyes when I'm out shopping but in my head I'm 5ft ten, brunette and 40 with the patience of mother Theresa

Folk wear masks …on here loads wear masks and also when meeting. It’s interesting because no one really knows one another on here…its all a charade. Only when people are comfortable with one another the mask slips and folk see a glimpse of the real person beneath and the bullshit they may have been sold initially. People talk a lot of shit on here

At work, where I have been for about a year, I was having a chat with one of the directors and he said that I have fitted in really well, everyone likes me and he hopes I will stay until retirement age or even beyond, so that's something!
