Whisky blues...

Scotland

Have decided tonight is all about me sitting chilling by the fire with a glass or 4 of the good stuff.. any deep and dirty blues recommendations welcome

What are you drinking? Bourbon? Scotch? Irish? Rye? Something else??

I seem to mostly drink bourbon, although my two favourites (so far) are Highland Park 12, a single malt scotch, and no.1 being Redbreast 12, an irish.

Always Scotch, Jura tonight... (Although I've never tried Irish Whisky)

Get the lights down low get the sound system cranked up and get Wafgner’s Gotterdammerung: Siegfried’s Funeral March blasting out… Even better if you can get wrapped up and sit outside next to a fire pit and watch the night sky with the speakers right next to you!

May not be the dirtiest of blues.. but this is Howlin Wolf teaching Eric Clapton and a few others how to play the blues..

Nice. I've only tried Jura a couple of times as the inlaws tend to have it on the table as their social pour.

If you've never tried Irish I would recommend it! Green Spot, Redbreast... maybe Connemara for a peated whiskey if you lean more towards the harsher, smokier side of Scotch.

Ro&Co are my go2s at the moment, I polished off a bottle of Suntory Toki last month and I thought it was very nice.

Never had Japanese before.

Nor me. From what little I know, most of the Japanese Whiskey industry was all about reproducing single malt Scotch, as they really developed a taste for it and wanted to make it locally instead of having to import it across the globe!
