Thanks very much for reminding me of this great writer!

Genius is not to strong a word for his work. Often people have a derisory sneer on their face when i try to explain his innate knowledge of the human traits that we all have. They think fantasy novel and dismiss out of hand/

Comes across as wise and being wise are two different things.

There's too much emphasis these days on rhetoric and confidence over data. Which is part of why we're in the mess we're in, in so many areas of public life.

He is erudite, witty, intelligent and well read. But his desire to believe narratives that are created, and without question, seems to indicate he lacks wisdom.

Define wisdom for me , please as it means different things to different people.

To me wisdom, while acknowledging the emotions, is about taking that emotion out of an equation and allowing space to reflect before reaching a conclusion. This ability can be observed even in children as young as 4.

There is no truly objective classification of what exactly "wise" means. Unlike the IQ tests, we would struggle to measure "wisdom" and therefore, the assigning of the word "wise" to a person is subjective and arbitrary.

IQ tests are not all they're cracked up to be either. I work with a member of MENSA (and not afraid to remind you) and I would NOT describe them as intelligent or wise or frankly anything similar. They have some academic prowess in a very narrow field and are otherwise incredibly ignorant.
