To refocus I would say probably a walk in a park. Sit under a tree or on a bench and appreciate fresh air.

Through personal meditation this feeling is rare for me now, but first I ground myself with my favourite journey technique or else it will spill Into a anxiety attack.

Then my car is my safe space always

Hope you are ok xxx

self-destructive behaviours behind a closed door.. where i can try do calm down and stop my skin being on fire and my head screaming and my ears ringing.

i get very over stimulated and overwhelmed, far too easily.

music helps when im trying to bring myself up afterward too. Px

I’m not quite at fire poi just yet, still trying to stop beating myself up with a few complicated spins

"How do you know if you are overwhelmed?"

People experience it differently.

Some people lose focus, panic attacks, feeling of anxiousness, different feelings for different people.

I stim. Anxiety spiral a bit. Reach out to loved ones and friends. Go for a long walk. And sometimes I just sleep through it because my head and heart feels better when I process and feel rested, I'm better equipped to handle things that way.

I make a list of everything that's on my mind. I write it in my neatest handwriting using my favourite pen and when I see it all neat and tidy it feels a bit less overwhelming. And then I ignore it or just try to work on one of the things.

Never experienced this before, there's been times when I'm a little stressed or have a lot going on but I've never felt the need to stop and do something about it like go to a dark room and hide or write stuff down to get it out my head... these things would do nothing for me and would change nothing about my situation, I just get on with things till it passes.

Sleep. I can sleep anywhere, at any time, with any notice, as long as I can support my head even slightly, I can choose to sleep if I am bored, anxious, nervous, impatient...

Probably depends on the why.

Dog walk for grounding

Gym for getting out frustrations.

Friends for moral support

I know it sounds lame but I have a special blanket which I only ever use when I'm anxious or overwhelmed so now my brain associates it with calming down, which helps loads

Walking my dog helps me when I'm feeling a bit like that. Seeing him running free, looking to make sure I'm still with him every now and then makes me so happy.

Or a bath with a locked door (kids!). If I'm able to a visit to the coast is good for me to

Hope you're ok OP x

Hi op. I think I’m extremely fortunate when it comes to mental health - happy is my natural default - and it takes a lot to spoil that equilibrium.

However - I do find that my walks with the dog - just him and I in the woods by the river - help to clear my mind and maintain my inner peace.

It's depends.

When it's a social situation I have to improvise and find a quiet space (which is preferable to having to riding out a social melt down). I will normally make a polite excuse and just go find somewhere.

At home, I will go play with my model trains. Its a little world I can escape to which is fully grounded and makes complete logical sense to me. Everything is predictable and is obedient to my control and the laws of physics. The chaos and noise of the outside world evaporates.

Hefty Hideaway

It depends on how much I’m feeling the feels. If it’s bad I dive headfirst into my records and play them until I forgot why I was out of sorts and I’m in the midst of a kitchen disco.

If it’s mild, I usually pick up a book and read til I fall asleep.

I bounce back super fast with a bit of distraction in the main.
