an electric blanket? Apparently sales have gone through the roof since the recent energy price increases. I have not used one myself begore as I always thought that unless it was padded, you must be able to feel it under the bedsheet and that would annoy me. I have a lovely martress topper and enjoy the comfort of that. When you read reviews, it akso seems that people don't think they get warm quickly or to a high enough temperature. Do you have one, do you like it? Anyone you would recommend?

As they say every cloud has a silver lining. I have an oxygen concentrator in my bedroom. Being a medical necessity the electricity for it is free, but as a by product it pumps out heat. I tend to sleep with just a sheet because it keeps bedroom about 24 degrees Centigrade. Not sure if that makes me lucky or not, but it does make me warm.

Hot water bottle, it's low tech up here in the Lakes.

I love my electric blanket. I usually switch it on about 10 minutes before I plan to go to bed and it means it's lovely and cosy when I get in. Unless it's particularly cold weather I don't usually keep it switched on once I'm in bed though.

No they're flat, old ones maybe but they're much better now

I hate a hot bed. I like to snuggle under a high tog feather duvet. When it gets too warm, I roll onto the cold side

I have an electric blanket in my bed and I have one on the sofa. Stems from being in a big house by myself when the boys weren't here. Didn't see the point in warming all the house when it was only me in it.

I don’t like a warm bed or bedroom. Snuggle on in and in no time I’m warm, even in the winter I end up sticking my legs out as get to warm under a summer duvet.

I meant to buy an electric blanket for the winter as my flat is freezing in the cold months but I toughed it out with just my hot water bottles and wearing my dressing gown over my clothes. I got through it but if I'm still in the same flat next winter I will definitely be buying one x

I’d hate that. Worst nightmare!

Even in the depths of winter I sleep with a window ajar and am still hanging out of the side of the bed tying to keep cool.

I’m like a giant hot water bottle.

I have an electric blanket- I pop it on a few mins before bed & only keep it on for a few minutes once I'm settled, but most have a variable timer anyway. You don't feel them under the sheet but if you think it'll bother you, they also make overblankets.

I have to do sleep shifts for work & I bought an electric heat pad from Amazon to keep there & it's brilliant - bigger than a hot water bottle, variable heat, timer & only about £20 ish

I have never had one and never will. I a 4.5 tog Duvet on my bed all year round and turn the heating down to 17c over night.

Never used an electric blanket, have gone through the winter using a 4.5 tog duvet with a brushed cotton top and bottom sheets.

Bedroom radiator turned off,

I also sleep naked.

Yes, I feel a bit anxious about them that's why I thought someone might be able to recommend a particular one they are using that they thought wad good enough to recommend. I will keep googling
