Contact a local zoo and get some lion or big cat shit then put it around your garden. It will scare them off. They will think theres a bigger animal.

As a caretaker, this is something that comes up regularly (ooer)

The easiest & most humane way is - as others have said - is to pee around the border - but it must be male pee, as this makes them think there's a large alpha male in the prowl.

Use the scoot liquid deterrent and spray every day where they are pooing and get some solar panel powered animal night eyes on stakes. The fox is marking its territory and that will help it think a bigger rival is about
