What's a sandwich to you OP? This might sound weird but it's a constant verbal battle in this household (n vs s).

A sandwich is me in between Mistress and another gorgeous beauty in a playroom at Jaydees.

Two things: it's a slice, obvs.

But also, toast with dinner? Unless it's eggs, I'm struggling.

You’re from london like me, people up here say dinner for what we call lunch. Does that help?

That's what we say. A piece is one slice cut into two.

Nah wouldn't call it a round of toast.

Possibly in a cafe on a menu with a breakfast where they bring out tiny triangles on a metal toast holder they might call it a round of toast.

If you said to me you were having two rounds of toast, I'd be thinking you were having 4 slices of toast!!

I heard both being used. To be fair perhaps there should be a word for two slices as every time I order toast I am asked if I want two slices.

Personally speaking, a "slice of toast" is a single slice of bread that's toasted, while a "round of toast" is as many slices of toast as come out of the toaster or grill.
