Am I a complete weirdo?

As its coming up to Easter, I'll occasionally buy a hot cross bun, everyone I know looks at me like a psycho when I eat them. Am i the only one who prefers hot cross buns plain, no butter and definitely not toasted, I don't think the butteryness compliments the sweetness of the bun.

I prefer them untoasted and lightly buttered. My mum puts half a gallon of butter on them which is just too much.

Studies show that only those with a highly refined palette can truly appreciate the beauty of a plain hot cross bun.

Nice with a little bit of butter for the taste however M&S hot cross bun can be devoured straight from the packet and usually in the car.

A toaster is for toasting bread, not butchering the delicacy of a hot cross bun.

Eat them as you like them Op. It's only a sweet bread bun. Just like other type of bread you can have it au naturale or toasted with some butter. Be indulgent and add some marmalade or jam or indeed some melted cheese and even a little crispy bacon. Or brush with a little tahini and drizzle some maple syrup and can even have a go at a lovely bread pudding. I could go on and on but the point is, if you like it, you go ahead and have it and enjoy

She spurns peas with ketchup, but eats chocolate with pomegranate…not sure i trust or celebrate her palate!

And I need to stop looking at this thread…I’m gluten and dairy intolerant and all I want now is a (toasted and buttered) hot cross bun
