What would you advise the younger generation?

Mine is to follow your heart, don't sweat the small stuff, put money into a pension pot and if you really want to do something, just do it.

Tell your family and friends you love them - often - you don’t know when it’ll be the last time

Try not to sweat the little things.

Spend money on travel, not possessions

Love like you’ve never been hurt

Dance! Stick that music on and dance your little heart out, it’s a great pick me up

Always evaluate the people who you meet and try to realise what they are wanting to be in your life for. Easier said than done. Try to be as supportive as possible without being taken for granted

1. Be true to yourself no matter the cost. Because being who you are and who you are meant to be is the most important thing in life.

2. Be true to those you love and those who love you because it is the second most important thing in life.

3. Help others whenever or however you can because giving of yourself is the third most important thing in life.

4. Finally, dont sweat the petty stuff and dont pet the sweaty stuff...Always have/keep a sense of humour because being able to laugh at life is the only way to survive it.

Would probably agree with everything but not a pension ..f**k that , l have my own reasons for saying that as well as in just before the recession so many people who were just about to retire had all their pension wiped out by companies and hadn't the time to make it back , wiped out with no where to go , totally wrong .

If you enjoy doing something, just do it, even if people think it's geeky or weird. There will be a lot of people out there who enjoy exactly the same thing.

Find something you enjoy doing, it may take 50years, but you may find your calling at any point. Then you know you can make a difference. Try different jobs, different fields of work, at the very least it will be an interesting read on your CV. (If anyone actually reads them anymore?)

'A fool and his Money are soon parted' that latest gadget you wanted? Is already out of date. Get a generation or three behind. You save money and it does much the same job.

I agree with all you've said OP.

I would add find yourself a mentor in work and one in your personal life. Don't be afraid to ask for advice from people.

You don’t know how long you’ve got on this planet, so if you’ve got an opportunity to do something that gives you joy or pleasure you should ALWAYS take it… don’t regret never having done something you wanted to

Travel the world, go see different places. Different cultures, different food and meet different people. That will open your horizons!

Listen. I’d say this is one of the best things to learn, people seem to have it hard to really listen. Take it in, let it simmer, and maybe once that’s all done. Make your own judgement.

Have fun! Literally we could be dead tomorrow, so if you want to do something, jus do it . And don’t let others hold you back

Invest some money in a good therapist. And yoga! Haha

Don’t bother with the Lottery. As Bill Bailey said, it’s a tax on hope. Put the money away every week and you’ll have three and a half grand in ten years. Which will buy you a Sainsbury’s meal deal and half a pint of beer by that point but that’s still more than you would have had.

Owl would tell them to ignore the older generations as they clearly failed to live up to their ideals and have made a mess of things. Do what you like and shut up with your winging! x
