Scientists have found a treasure trove of dinosaur bones in a place called Tanis in North Dakota which is a place in the USA. They are literally tripping over the bones. One theory is that they were wiped out by a flood of water when a large meteor struck the earth. I reckon the early dinosaurs had what we call today an elephants graveyard. These ancient beasts knew when they were about to die and headed to one place and that place today is called Tanis. It was almost a dinosaur pilgrimage for them. One last journey. A bit like Atlantic salmon returning to Scotland to die.

It was a pile of creatures washed by a tsunami created by impact with a 12km wide asteroid.

Hardly any fossils existed the few thousand years before but these animals died the day Earth was struck.

If it hadn’t been hit we wouldn’t be here today wanking and reading forums.

This

But a large portion of central USA was underwater during the late cretaceous so it makes sense that this would happen.

Tom dinosaurs went extinct approximately 65million years ago.

The first incarnation of man didn't appear until 2 million years ago.

A bit of a discrepancy!

This story is all over the news. Tom will keep his radar out for updates.. these beasts are so well preserved they have found skin on some of them. Skins are made into leather and it would not surprise if they actually find a leather saddle at one point which will throw the whole thing up in the air...

Once upon a time, there was a mom

Her name was Mrs. Pteranadon

Sitting on her nest she heard scratching and said

"Oh boy, my eggs are hatching"

One by one her kids popped free

Baby Pteranadons, one two three

"I'll name you Tiny, Shiny, and Don"

But Tiny said "Wait, there's one more, Mom"

The last little baby was a different size

With teeth, a tail, and big green eyes

He didn't look anything like the rest

"What am I doing in a Pteranodon nest?"

But dear old Mrs. Pteranodon said

"This is your family and I'm your mom

We may be different, but we're all creatures

All dinosaurs have different features

Come on Buddy, we'll take a vacation

I'll get us a ticket at Pteranadon station

We'll travel the word in sunshine and rain

And meet all the species on the..."

The top man leading the dig is said to be a man called Phil Manning although the boots on the ground man is called De Palma. That's how I read it.

Not sure how big the team is but security is usually pretty tight to stop amateur treasure hunters and the like stealing bones and contaminating the site. Not sure how much actual skill is needed on these digs. It's often volunteers. All you seem to need is a trowel and a paint brush. And painter and decorator would have those skills.
