So with every part of day to day life becoming increasingly more expensive, will you be cutting back on entertainment like meals out, cinema and the theatre etc? Will you also be doing more more meets maybe? They don't have to be expensive after all.

Being 30 miles from either Dundee or Aberdeen it’s pretty much put a stop to any random jaunts I used to take to local gigs, hockey games or the cinema. It’s a case of stay in town and hope for some motivation to do up some of the house

I guess it's a price you have to pay living in the sticks. You probably wouldn't change it though, right?

If I had it my way I’d be more into the sticks

Lucky you I guess, or do you just not do those things anyway?

Seems to be the invisible spending rather than planned spend where the problem lies. Local newsagent for 20 menthols and a copy of jocks n giraffes come out with a month supply of strawberry lube, a Kazakhstani ready meal and 15 rolls of duct tape.

My treat was an Indian takeaway once a week

Kids don’t like it so when they are in bed on a Friday or sat I would treat myself, but not now saving me about 50 quid a month probably more as that’s the only time I would have a beer as well so cut that out.

Lockdowns changed our routines so drastically, that’s the reason we can’t be arsed making the effort to do as much these days. We still do what & when we want though

I don't think you're alone on that, I'm not doing fish n chips from the chippy on a Friday anymore.

I personally think we’ll be seeing a bit of a recession in the coming years. Can’t carry on like this.

I think a lot of people's routines are still out of whack, I guess it makes it easier if it's still not the norm, don't feel like your missing out.

I'd already cut those things to zero, so no.

Dover

Definitely cutting back.

I have a big house that was expensive enough to heat before the price of gas doubled. Not much I can do about it other than cut back elsewhere. The price of fuel is making me question my transport choices, and I’m using my motorcycle more as a result rather than the car.
