Tearjerking moments in horror movies

Ever watched a scene in horror movie that got you teary eyed whether it's a sad, heartwarming or even both? What tearjerking moments do you remember?

I remember one moment from the movie Ghost Ship when the main character Epps has stopped the Ferryman and blown up the ship, the ghosts that were trapped on the ship are finally free to go to Heaven and she sees the ghost of the girl Katie smile as she disappears. The music in that whole scene is so beautiful especially when we see the ghosts swirling round the ship as it sinks. I can't help but shed a few tears as it is so touching seeing these trapped souls finally free to go to Heaven.

It is most deffo horror. Some might appreciate the artistic edge.

However it was creepy (crawly) stuff….

I'm not sure you would describe the crow as horror but I have it in my top 3 most romantic movies of all time, I'm crying buckets by the end.

Theres a story in tales from the darkside the movie that I find extremely touching and sad, gets me every time I watch it

I sort of agree. The thing is, horror movies barely have a plot (especially more modern). There is almost no room to have meaningful character development to make you feel for the characters. Some exceptions of course, Carrie being a huge one. But overall it's about the horror nor the emotional drive.

Carrie is indeed a good horror movie and I'm sure people have shed tears for the main character Carrie as you can't help but feel sorry for her with all the crap she goes through in the movie.

Just remembered another tearjerking moment from Shaun of the Dead when Shaun's mum and stepdad die before becoming zombies. I liked that his stepdad makes peace with him before he dies but it's still heartbreaking seeing Shaun cry for him and his mum.

I’m a total horror fan, not found one too gorey or too scary yet. I do wish they would stop using animals in them thou. That’s the only thing that gets me.

Watched aftermath on Netflix recently, good film with lots of twists but the bloody dog dies I’d rather see humans cut up than a poor animal die.

I often tear up at the thought than women actually behave that way in a life or death situation. Frustrating viewing to say the least!
