I am way below average which makes things challenging but you know what, just means I have to work harder and the way I see it is that if people are not interested then that is there choice. I see people way better looking than me and sometimes when you get chatting realise you are not a match. Everyone is different and has different likes so don't stress over it.

I think it's recognising a difference between quantifiable attributes (height, weight, IQ score etc) and who a person 'is'.

Personally I don't have an issue with it as while I believe thinking about ourselves and others as beings distinct from our physical presence, I also believe that this doesn't reflect reality. We are only blobs of matter so any words that can usefully describe any other objects can be applied to us. This is not a common view and most think of humans as something more than the physical matter they're made from and therefore prefer language that more accurately reflects this belief.
