"I do find it all rather sad. I was reading the other thread. I’ve spent my life saying to my kids things like say thank you to the lady etc. If someone were to take offence at that it wouldn’t go down very well with me I’m afraid. I totally get the offence if people do it on purpose and I’m sure people would get it wrong just to be spiteful and ignorant but people who wish to be referred to as something that hasn’t ever been the norm in our lifetime need to accept that people are innocently going to make mistakes. If I knew someone was non-binary I would make a conscious effort to refer to them as they, of course I would but it isn’t going to come naturally to a lot of people x" Some even take offence at being called "they"...can't do right for doing wrong! x

Sadly I can't get physically altered to resemble a real woman because of my age and ill health, but even if I could it would not change my genetic sex, however good an imitation woman I became. It is great being treated as an honorary woman, and I love being like this, but a lot of the screeching abusive word-twisting 'transactivists' seem to be misogynistic and are anything but feminine. I fear that their vicious, aggressive, irrational behaviour will actually backfire against those of us who love and respect real women. I hate the 'pronoun fascists'; I really don't mind being referred to as he or she but would find 'it' a bit rude! I find that most people are usually very kind and accepting, more than I had expected, but people shouldn't be bullied into telling lies, and the whole trans women in women's sports or prisons thing appals me. I do worry about upsetting or offending women, or confusing or upsetting small children, and do my best not to (although I loved meeting a woman friend's little girls and they were quite happy and OK).

"Manchester can't become Chester as that is elsewhere" Manchester has already had its gender changed. The original name for the settlement was Mamucium, where "Mam" was derived from mammary, because of a local hill having a breast-like shape. The name translates literally as "Titty Town".

If I knew someone was non-binary I would make a conscious effort to refer to them as they, of course I would but it isn’t going to come naturally to a lot of people x Some even take offence at being called "they"...can't do right for doing wrong! x Do they?! I thought they/them was the correct term. This is what I mean! It’s ridiculous. People just won’t bother anymore. Everyone will be walking around with their heads down. I've heard some say "I'm not a they...I'm such and such" At the end of the day, I don't care what they call themselves as its not my business....apart from when someone says they identify as a tree or such like! I know some will have a go at the comment but seriously! Yeah I can’t get on board with identifying as a lamp or a dog etc. That’s just attention seeking bollocks. Sorry but I chuckled at this " Laugh ye not!!

"This thread is just antagonistic Yup, but another great filter thread Works both ways. But seriously? It’s just a joke. " Its a topic that is getting quite some airtime on the forums. To you its a joke, but a bit disingenuous to not at least acknowledge the possibility that some may see it as antagonistic. I do remember the its just a joke defence used in the 80s over some stuff that would be seen as universally unacceptable today. I am not offended BTW, but am finding gender vs non gender threads getting a bit stale now.

So not sitting here plotting, scheming… Tiresome is also hysteria every time a person makes a pub level comment. Bore bore bore. Now back to pineapple on pizza.
