So I have a design for a tattoo ready to be done, I just can't decide where to put it....

I want to be able to show it off or cover it if I want too...decisions decisions x

I wouldn't be stupid enough to pay for a tattoo if I wanted to hide it Hun . Henna is cheap ..would suit you more

I can get it done smaller because of the design, don't really fancy it below the knee apart from maybe near my ankle x

My advice is to take your design idea to your tattooist and have a chat about possible placements as tweaks to the design may be needed for certain body areas to ensure you compliment the body shape without losing the integrity of the design.

Ask the tattoo artist what their opinion is. They "should" have much more knowledge about not only artistic location but also easy of application. Some many people have amazing tattoos but they are just in the wrong part of the body, or in bad places just because they wanted it there and not somewhere else.

An amazing design and skillful application can be destroyed by bad location.

Sounds great. As I said, definitely not my expertise as I'm a blank canvass, but sure it'll look great wherever you decide! X

If possible print the design out so you try positioning it in different places, if you want to 'try before you buy' you can get 'water slide transfer paper' to print on, another option would be to use a sharpie hehe

I’ve got some - below the waist and above the skirt line can’t be seen

Also top of arms are covered by short sleeves tops

I’m tempted with getting stomach done, that would be out of sight too

I wouldn’t get my back tattooed because I like to see my tattoos, they mean something to me

Make sure you check the design before it is tattooed on you

Most tattoo artists put their own spin on tattoos and won’t steal another artists work - if it’s your work then be sure to say so

Unfortunately I didn’t check the design on one of my tattoos and the artist missed off some very key elements of a tattoo I took in (not designed by me) and in my opinion (but clearly not his) those were important features of the design

Just be aware it would possibly show through tops eg white shirts and T-shirts on your shoulders (just mentioning as you said you may want to cover up)
