So I’m doing my hair (I managed to burn my finger on my flat iron… whooheeeey) and I’m listening to some amazing Brazilian music .. feeling like I’m a Brasilera here

Anyone else likes international music?

If so, which language?

And any recommendations? Post here

I love Also French music! And songs in French

Here’s some of my Brazilian fave I’ve been listening to this morning :

Coracao vagabundo - gal costa

Mas que nada - Jorge Ben jor

agua de beber - Antonio Carlos jobim

Que beleza - tim Maia

So much!

I have an absolute love, like adoration of Xtreme's - Te Extraño.

Lao' a Lao' by Prince Royce. Oh and Incondicional.

There's a theme here, one of my Spotify daily playlists always has this style of music.

I love Zucchero. I first heard him when he and Paul Young sung Senza Una Donna together. Now I have most of his back catalogue on Spotify.

I especially love to listen to him in when singing in Italian.

Great hats as well

I’m currently into classic cello music.

On my playlist on the way to work.

Hoping it helps with my ability to learn with the addition of my lessons.

Brazilian Punk and Thrash are the best - bands like RDP, Sepultura/Soulfly, Colera, Raimundos and Dead Fish.

I listen to a fair bit of Australian stuff these days too, the Chats, Amyl and the Sniffers, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard for example.

I like the fact that there are so many niches worldwide and everything is accessible through things like Bandcamp - bands can establish themselves if they're willing to work hard, they just don't have the huge loans that the major labels used to pump them with.

Worthing

The french rock band Trust were decent. Some songs were in their native language.

It is isn't it? I always drift off and imagine dry humping someone to it. I do listen to others but that bachata style music hits differently.

Being into metal, kind of have to like international music. Lots of stuff from the Nord lands, as well as South America, far Eastern countries, and even India with bloodywood being an upcoming band. Tyr from the Faroe Islands are a good example of a foreign language in a song. Faroese is a beautiful language to be sung (closest living language to Viking era Nord), and they have songs about having their culture stolen by far right extremists, which shows they don't subscribe to that hate (Faroe Islands tends to be hostile to outsiders, so it's an important stance for them to make)

The Hu - Mongolian

Bloodywood - India

Breed 77 - Gibraltar

Rammstein - Germany

Guano Apes - Austrian

That’s a few of the worldly bands I frequently listen too. All metal though

For people who enjoy dance, especially trance based music, check out Heilung. They're a German neofolk dance band that use both Viking era Nordic instruments, and also other instruments from cultures around the world.

When I thought I was going to SA for the Lions tour (f*ck you COVID) I started to get into South African house music, really enjoyed it.

There's a playlist on Spotify "South African house & Afro beats" which is pretty decent
