Hi all. I'd love to try dogging and I know there is a lot of such activity around the Stoke area, but as a single guy on his own, how the he'll do you approach someone who you think might be dogging but not sure? Also, if you see doggers enjoying them selves, is it rude to ask to join in? Any and all advice gratefully received.

Every time I see something about dogging it reminds me of the time I was parked in a spot unknowingly and ignition was on and I was touching my brake pedal

Some guy knocked on my window and asked what I was into, I said not guys shortly before he quickly departed

There's a super secret dogging signal. When approaching a potential dogger, you need to hop towards them on one leg while chirping like a meerkat. And you have to wave your hands in a jazz hands fashion at the same time. If they like what they see, they'll hop in a circle like a bunny. Then the fun can really begin!

You forgot to mention the flashing of wet wipes so they know you came prepared

Dogging is like fishing be ready to be bored but when the right situation arises then make sure your rods ready. As for other people they are there for the same reason as you so if your lucky enough to see some action then just join in in a polite way

Be prepared to sit around for a long time.. it’s a lot like fishing..

Other than that “be polite” and actually talk to a couple of you see them parked up, they’ll likely be even more nervous than you. If a couple tells you go away then go away..

Talk to other doggers - you might get a few handy hints.

If you’re taxed, insured and not pissed then you’re not breaking any laws..

I'm not tempted to try again. The one time curiosity got the better of me, there was a strong smell of alcohol breath that put me off. Weird vibe.

It’s definitely not everyone’s cup of tea (or vodka) but I enjoy it…

Obviously if a couple is in full swing try not to disturb them and watch at a safeish distance. If they are sitting there chatting, a polite hello can go a long way.
