You have people come for dinner???

It depends on the time of year but I love winter & serve homemade mushroom soup, roast beef dinner & cheat with a shop bought pudding if having one. Although I love cranachan or clootie pudding.

I’m good weather we get the pizza oven & they can decorate their own

Diagonally Parked in a Parallel Universe

Last time I had someone round for a meal I knocked up a smoked salmon, cream cheese and asparagus risotto, which went down rather well.

I find polishing cutlery therapeutic. But so glad we have a dishwasher. However, having other people in our home sends my anxiety through the roof

If its multiple people or someone I haven't seen in ages I like to make a lasagne as I can make it ahead of time so it just needs sticking in the oven when people arrive.

If it's someone who will happily hang out as I cook then it depends what food they like. A few options though are my peanut butter stir fry, mixed bean quasadillas, falafels, houmous, halloumi, salad, sauerkraut, tomatoes and flatbreads or I quite fancy making a tagine and couscous soon.

I don't...

Much prefer to eat out with friends and try to avoid cooking if possible. I love eating though

Durham

Starter would be black pudding and brie salad.

Main course - choice of minted lamb shank or pork tenderloin in stilton sauce, served with roast potatoes, buttery carrots and tenderstem broccoli.

Dessert would be a refreshing lemon cheesecake or raspberry trifle.

Vindaloo.

I just love watching the people who brag about "loving spicy food" trying to finish one of my vindaloos without begging for milk or yoghurt out of sheer politeness.

Actually, they don't come around any more. But it used to amuse me.

It's been a while, but the last time I had guests I made tomato and sweet potato soup, creamed Halibut, and various flavours of homemade sorbets. In fairness its usually all about the alcohol so the foods secondary!! Sometimes I'll just do a spag bol to give us a lining and it goes down exceptionally well!
