NW London

Sony WM-1000 series always get great reviews as do Bose Quiet Comforts, plus you can usually get a set on heavy discount if you shop around.

Bose quiet comfort wireless noise cancelling are excellent, great sound, really comfortable, excellent battery life and great for flights to drown out the gobby d*unks and screaming brats

You haven't said where you will listen to the audiobooks, at home, on the move, in the car, whilst having sex etc..

Each situation can change the specs of what you need..

The other question is open or closed ie other people being able to gear or not and if you need external noise cancelling..

My 15 year old recently bought an excellent pair (wireless) for about 20 quid. They are sooo good and she prefers them to her AirPods.

Let me know if you want the details.
