I’m one of those who have been “lucky” (for want of another word) enough not to suffer any mental health disorders aside from very low key ones (IMO) such as panic attacks, now I realise this may not be construed as “low key” to some but to me and my experience it was considering there are people out there who suffer worse than I did when I had them.

I have, in the past been on antidepressants due to having a Neighbour From Hell and who carried out aiming attacks at me, indirectly to my dog & on my car, til his GF demanded he stop as it was making her MH worse. I have not been on medication since around 2014 more or less.

3 or so weeks ago I started “seeing” things out of the corner of my eye. But when I look there’s nothing there. Usually I think it’s one of my cats walking about or the one that goes out coming in, but when I look for her, nothing there. It’s happened a couple of time when “driving” ie I’m in drivers seat, someone is in passenger seat and I “see” someone on the outside but no one is there. I also smell familiar smells in the house - like a freshly made poo in the cat litter box but when I check, nothing and no my cat doesn’t poo anywhere else. Or fart.

I’ve looked it up and found that it could be hallucinations, most obvious answer is due to alcohol or drug usage which I don’t. Or mental health.

I don’t particularly want to contact my GP even though I probably should, I’m sure someone will say I should.

Charles Bonnet syndrome ? It causes a person whose vision has started to deteriorate to see things that aren't real.

It happens due to failing eyesight.

I think you should go to your GP and have a frank discussion-no holds barred.

General Practitioners are invariably very busy; as you are honest and articulate, I would advise you to set out your specific problems, issues, visualizations, and living condition problems in a document that your doctor can read in advance of your first apointment to discuss a resolution.

I know from experience that having a Neighbour from Hell is a living nightmare that is extraordinarily bad for mental health.

I found the best solution was not to react to any provocation ; which is very difficult!

GPs are highly experienced experts, and can access more specialized expertise

Avoid listening to the opinions of the untrained people on this site; set out your issues, as you see them, and how they have changed over time.

And avoid using Google to diagnose yourself; it often raises anxiety unnecessarily.

Panic attacks are not low key, they're fucking horrible, debilitating, awful things.

Thankfully I haven't had one for about 5 years but for the 5 years previous they were crippling at times.

Good. Some poeple with anxiety can go down many rabbit holes and freak out.

I have/do have anxiety problems, panic attacks and so on. I know the mind can easily play tricks when it's stressed. So yeah you could be hallucinating

Sounds like stress. You’re conscious mind can’t process everything so you get incomplete thoughts while you catch up. It’s not uncommon.

See your GP. It’s what they’re for. While you’re at it go ask someone you trust whether they think you are looking after yourself properly. You probably could be taking better care of yourself than you think you are.

I saw my GP last Monday but not for this. I’ve been ill every 3 months or so since September, I suspect my Vit D deficiency is probably back as I’m feeling fatigued again but am used to that.

Iron. There’s a really good one orange and white box/bottle in boots. Add it to orange juice as the oj stimulates your pancreas to produce insulin which gets it into your blood quicker. It’s brilliant for fatigue. Still see your doc though sweetie. Get yourself an MOT.
