Hello my angels and demons. I’ve been thinking today about the experience that really shape us. I’m interested to find out about you all so please tell me/ us something others might not know about you. Or tell an experience that really shaped you into who you are today or your worldview today?

This is a safe space so be nice if you’re in.

I was ill and off work for months so I gave up working and went to university. I discovered a love of education and have never looked back. I wasn't young either and I think this made it more enjoyable.

Business and tourism management. I've never used it as I started teaching in my 4th year. I wanted to market Scotland. I can still do that if I get my finger out

Don’t blame you on men especially if it’s to do with your lived experience as a woman.

Self sabotage is tough but I hope you can work through it and unlearn it.

And tell us your favourite snack??

I was in a pretty bad accident overseas and broke multiple bones, leg, arm, ribs, jaw and a severe head injury, I was out for a couple of days and had a bleed on the brain.

If I hadn’t have changed seats with somebody I would I have 100% died.

I know this because the person I changed seats with died.

That changed me fair bit.

Still a dickhead though.

Oh Steve where do we start,

first there's mini chocolate orange daim bars and also chocolate orange twirls! Have a bit of an obsession with chipsticks at the minute aswell, oh and cheese and grapes. The grapes are just to make me feel healthier though.

And the other stuff, yeah men are dicks. It's ok, I'll suck it up though.

At 16 I was about half a centimetre away from being stabbed for something a “friend” had done.

It made me reevaluate where my life was heading so I cut a few people out of my life and made a few big changes.

God knows where I’d that hadn’t happened.

There was an incident that I have hinted about here but don’t want to give the full context as I know which side a lot of people are going to fall on.

Massively changed my worldview and especially my political beliefs.

Had another major incident that heavily changed my attitude towards women as well. For the better I think but still wished it never happened.

Work taught me that the company I work for doesn't matter. I should work to live, not the other way around and I can wait for my progression when it comes.

My brother and sister getting divorced from their "traditional" marriages taught me that I don't have to do the same or rush into getting married.

My other sister's kids taught me that I don't need to be in a rush to have kids if I'm not ready.

Essentially, I thought I had to do everything in my 20s to set myself up for the rest of my life, but there really isn't any rush for me and I can take my time. Sorry if this was a bit long winded

"Work taught me that the company I work for doesn't matter.

Don’t be sorry. I enjoyed reading this. I am glad you realised this. And this is sound advice for people in their 20s in a rush to settle down! You’re acing life and long may that continue! "

Thank you, you seem very kind and supportive and wish you the very best going forward

P.S. I should note that I love my niece and nephew but can see how overwhelming parenting can be

Worthing

I stood up to the junior school bully when he took football of my friends and me. No-one had every done it to him before. I squared up and shouted for him to hand it back which he did. No problems after that and in the years afterwards, it was never forgotten.
