Yes, beauty helps to be confused. Or not?

Monogamy works for some, not others

I am, however, of the opinion that, if in a relationship, then all those in that relationship should be aware of any attempts to alter any monogamous status quo that exists

"How many convince yourself here it's a myth or not - asking for a colleague "

Im conflicted

I love the idea of monogamy and what it stands and represents but I think majority of people aren’t built for monogamy. (Some do tho)

I certainly aren’t, but I fantasise and romanticise romance and being completely as a whole, for one person only

HAha just being honest x I think having that extra connection with someone is special and doesn’t come about that easy.

But I think we can feel attraction and wanting to be intimate with a lot of people x and some feel the need to be intimate with different people and that’s okay x

Pure monogamy isn't for me as per the dictionary. I see the world as a whole spectrum of different kinds of relationships, friendships and encounters. And obviously pretty much all of us on here are not technically monogamous. I'm love variety and my interactions with other people. Yet despite all this I feel monogamous because I have cracked it, I have the woman who is truly my everything and I will always be hers. I've had to live a life and go through a lot to really know the difference in what we have to anything I've had before. The same is true of her. So yes we both enjoy variety and other people and but where it matters we are monogamous and it's always her. And that is a amazing feeling to have freedom to explore from a solid ship that is always securely anchored.

For me it depends how you're defining monogamy - emotional monogamy is a must for me, but physical monogamy isn't.

This might be a forum of swingers where most of the answers might be skewed in one direction.

Personally? I believe it exists for those who want to partake in it (each to their own and all that) but it’s not for me.

My personal preference is for emotional monogamy with wild nights of fun and mutual satisfaction with others not from within the relationship.

It might just be me but I actually think it could make some relationships last longer.

Edinburgh (She/Her)

This is a classic personal choice answer.

Yes there will be individuals who will always be monogamous.

Statistically this is a classic bell curve.

Hard core monogamy on one side, multiple partnered on the other (what could be described perhaps as polyamory). Then you have the others inbetween. The swingers, the cheaters. The one night stands etc.

All the women I’ve been in relationships with definitely believe in monogamy. I’m not as much a believer in my older age and just wish to enjoy things before I’m dead

I watched a nature program years ago which said the scrotum size of primates was relative to monogamy. Long story short; Us humans ain't biologically built for it.
