Quite busy next week and when that is the case I like to plan all dinners for the week. Here is my plan for next week. Do you plan for the week ahead or just decide on the day?

Monday: Pizza from freezer (usually a margheritta and I add bits on top from the fridge) and mixed salad

Tuesday: Linguine and meatballs in tomatoe sauce (have homemade frozen meatballs in the freezer, take some out the night before and add a jar of my favourite tomatoes sauce and bake in oven for 20mins, serve over cooked linguine or spaghetti)

Wednesday: Mixed bean veg chilli and rice (Couple of tins of mixed beans and chickpeas, jar of chilly sauce, cook and serve with rice)

Thursday: Potato omelette (cook chips, beat the eggs, add seasoning and some parmezan and pour over the chips, cook one side for a few mins, flip over as you do with any omelette or cook the top under a grill and serve with a nice salad - greek salad with lots of feta goes well and I like it

Friday: Home cooked shepherds pie, peas and carrots.

Saturday: Nibbles (cold meats, cheeses, humous, crudités, olives, pitta bread

Sunday: Roast pork, roast potatoes, yorkshire pudding, veg and apple gravy

.

I've planned for the week ahead but mainly because I've got a busy week ahead and know I won't have the energy to be thinking about what to cook last minute and I'm trying to avoid takeaways/very unhealthy food right now.

To give myself some excitement though I've not decided what to have on a set day - I know I won't want it if I do because I'm ridiculous like that.

I’m too disorganised to meal plans properly.

I just go to the supermarket and pick up whatever takes my fancy and all the basics like chicken, mince, pasta, veg etc.

My cupboards are all well stocked all the time so I can throw most things together.

I just decide on the day what to cook.

Today is garlic & Rosemary new potato’s & Chicken.

Tomorrow … who knows

At the minute, I’m winging it daily. I need to get more steps into my exercise, so I walk to the shops. Carrying only what food I can get into a small bag. Usually, enough to get us through dinner, and lunch the following day.

I plan, but often get derailed by non planned events, ie, work priorities

I was planning to do something with a cauliflower last Wednesday. But its still staring at me every time I open the fridge

When I’ve planned like that before, I tend to find that I don’t actually want what it is on the day.

So now, it is decided first thing what is for tea, with ingredients either removed from the freezer that morning or bought during the day.

The only planning I do is batch cooking and what I can turn base ingredients into for different meal choices, before freezing.

Yes, definitely batch cooking and freezing is something I do too making sure there is always something in the freezer.

I plan a week ahead because:

1. I make too many decisions on a daily basis with work and would hate to have to make another big decision once I'm home

2. Saves me money on buying only the food I need for that week

3. Makes sure I don't waste food (buying something that goes out of date on Tuesday but not realising until Thursday)

4. I'm an utter control freak and it keeps my anxiety at bay since it is something I actually control

Camberley occasionally doncaster

Mine is only ever semi planned. I have much protein in the fridge and loads of veggies/salad stuff. I then decide what herbs or spices are going on each meal as I'm prepping.

I have a list of what's in and the date it expires.

Helps to choose what I fancy rather than rummaging through the cupboards and fridge.

Northampton Somewhere

5 people in my house so I have to plan for the week. Now the kids are older they all usually pick a meal they want to have.

Their choices this week are: Eldest ~ burgers (will make them as we haven't had a burger for tea in ages. I also put loads of things on the table so they can put what they want in it. Various cheeses, bit of salad, bacon and if I've got time cara_elized onions).

Middle one ~ kedgeree

Youngest ~ Chicken/salad wrap

Can't remember the other 4 days atm.

You obviously like sweet sour chicken above anything else to have it 3 days in a row. Although I agree can be very nice
