land of make believe

I received a kindle as a gift and I don't like it even for travelling.

Nothing compares to a real book, the feel, smell, even the page turning, all adds to the experience.

In the west.

I prefer paperbacks as they aren't as heavy. I prefer crime thrillers.

I have a new book to start tonight. It will either be Peter May or Steve Cavanagh.

Yes; I always have several books waiting to be read and although I can see the convenience of electronic books especially when travelling read paper books, although the space needed becomes more of a problem than the cost; I have about 3,000 books.

I mainly read history of various sorts but also occasional novels and other things.

I think I may have read a couple of his. I will look out for some when I finish these two.

I stopped because I was trying to have less ‘stuff’. I did use the library for a while as a go between, but I go with audio books now.

Something awesome about a physical book though

I read avidly, mostly thrillers, always have a few on the go at once. Always on my Kindle though as i love it, i find it far easier to use because it's light, the size of the letters can be changed, no painful hands from holding a paper book.

I also got fed up of 100s and 100s of dusty paper books in my small house.

I do love childrens books in paper though.

Absolutely. Always. Every time.

You can't beat the tactile feel of a good book, the parchment smell and the reassuring weight as opposed to the relative 'fragility' of a Kindle.

One of my favourite things to do on a day off is go book shopping. I do like a paperback for reading when travelling, but I prefer to read on the kindle app on my phone at bedtime cause I can read with the light off.

I'm currently reading Stranger In A Strange place after it was recommended be a fellow Fabber.

Anyone get sad when they finish a really good book?

Reading The Wheel of Time at the mo. I bought a kindle, never used it. I like the feel of a book in my hand, getting lost in it, and I’m also a bit clumsy when I’m tired, so have dropped many a book when reading in bed…wouldn’t work with a kindle x

I am an avid reader. Just read Insatiable by Daisy Buchanan in about 3.5 hours for a bit of easy reading.

I’m halfway through Anne Brontë’s The Tenant of Wildfell Hall so needed something to break it up. Only 200 pages to go!

My current recommendation though is The Storyteller by Dave Grohl. I loved it. The book is a beaut too.
