I started wearing a wooly scarf over my head when I was in hospital. Really calmed me down and belief me sleep.

Continued with it when I came home so now it's pretty of my bedtime ritual. Really should just make myself a hat though

I sometimes put the hood up on my dressing gown!

I think you might be onto something though as on the way home after a club/party I put a big hoody on and put the hood up to calm myself
