"…understand why people send friend requests when they’ve never made an effort to talk to you first? You don’t randomly go up to people in the freezer section of Tesco (other supermarkets are available) and request them to be friends with you… Do you? " Maybe they send them to replace the winks you claim to ignore? They may be too anxious to send the first message so this is a wink replacement to show interest. C

"But I'm not in Tesco, although I probably would smile at someone when I was doing my shopping. I'm dreadfully nosy and a bit cheeky and quite often send out random friend requests. Maybe I get away with it because I'm female. " Oh I like this, we don’t smile enough at each other outside in the real world do we? I love your cheeky style

"“Holds hands up” When we first had our profile on here I was horribly guilty of this a couple of times. It was genuine naivety. Abby soon told me it wasn’t the done thing. Fast forward a few years and I do have some sympathy with newbies but certainly not longer standing profiles. Viv " Ahh that’s sweet, maybe I’m too harsh on newbies? I do try sometimes with messages to be receptive to newbies, we were all new once right!

"We agree and accept no such requests and block them instantly. If they are that poorly skilled at human interaction then they aren't for us. Mind you, I have had this done to me a couple of times in public and it is quite creepy and it is only my personality that has protected me. I did try it once at a house party and the other was really freaked out until mutual friends explained I was doing it to test if it was weird or just me. x" Really?? You’ve had people in real life do this?? That is a bit weird

"I rarely check friend requests! Unless they've messaged with a face pic and I want to chat more, then I'll friend them because my face is in friends only pics. So I wouldn't accept a random invite " I think those are good boundaries, we have to be safe especially in this world

"I dont pay attention to them. If we havent chatted or planned on meeting i largely ignore.
