Can anybody tell me how to stop the Fab site coming up in the search bar as soon as we type fa into it?

It's only been happening the last week.

Have had chrome for a while suddenly this is happening.

Used to worked by deleting history then closing.

It's still coming up in search as soon as we start up

Every so often my son comes home grabs my lap top.

The last thing i need is for him have this come up

Help

Could create his own sign on on your laptop, that might help

Top right, click icon, go 'incognito'

This opens a page where no history of where you have been is shown

Was the main reason I switched to chrome...

Clear your entire history and ensure that, if you at logged in using your google account on multiple machines, your preferences are not saved across machines.

Also, there's a great chrome add in called Tab Renamer - very handy for having Fabs open at work and making it look like a work tab!

Guess my suggestion won't help for current issue. There will be somewhere to delete it all, can't remember precisely.

In future though definitely go incognito, its the way forward!

turn AUTOCOMPLETE off in your options, and use Ccleaner regularly

staffs

Settings - clear browsing data

Easy, then you can browse incognito or just simply do as above...

Which is a good idea to do frequently any way

Rayan are you and Julie sat next to each other?

Answer was.... highlight the suggestion you don't want using arrow keys then sift delete (held together not back space)then let go of shift

Have no idea what i'm talking about as husband has just done it.

Thanks and loads of kisses to everyone for helping xx

Bucks

if other members of the family use same machine then safest route is to set different user profiles

If you want to be sure to to it every time you close down Chrome, there is an Extension you can load called 'Click and Clean' which you can set up to clear down history, cached passwords, cached sites etc when you close down Chrome. Very handy and fully automated.

I can also recommend "Adblock Plus" and "Do Not Track Plus" extensions as well.

As said above - set up different user accounts

We do that and also have a "guest account" on the machine for those "Can I borrow your internet" moments when people are round!

Keeps prying eyes away!
