It's not a need. We simply enjoy it. It adds a lot to our sex lives but isn't the driving force for it.

It was the word need in the question that did it for me, it didn't sit well with me either. Like you I think the question implied a negative. Almost suggesting that you're missing something elsewhere though maybe that wasn't how it was intended.

Like you... Because it's an enjoyable experience to have.

And because it can add things you didn't necessarily even know you liked. I think it also forms more of a bond and closeness in its own way.
