I think it'll impact most aspects of most people's lives. Less money to spend on the fun things so you can keep the essentials going

"Definitely using this war as an excuse to tighten the thumbscrew"

It's not an excuse, it's cause and effect.

The cost of fuel is now ridiculous they need to cut the duty on it.

"Will it impact your swinging lifestyle?"
for me it already has. Fuel is a big issue... I'm already without adding a club trip doing £70 pw at current prices...even a chams trip is £30 fuel for me now.

The cost of running my diesel was getting too much, so I put 50% petrol in it now

Am not a swinger tbh but prices will have an effect no doubt , the same places will have to be got to only it's gonna cost more to get there ,wether it's work or shopping etc .The only people it won't affect as such are the rich , it's not a swipe at them but it's just the way it is .

I think what we are seeing is the beginning of a serious recession

Recessions start because people can’t buy stuff. Businesses close and jobs disappear shortly after

If the average person can’t afford to do anything outside of heating their home and fuelling their car, how does the economy keep going.

I think it’s gonna get rough

Definitely spending much less on weekends away , holidays and meals out etc. It’s just makes sense to limit spending with so much uncertainty and inflation so high things feel less value for money.

Yes, most definitely. I suspect It’ll bring it to practical standstill soon.

On a mooch

As I only go out once or twice a month, I can’t see it changing much. I’ve already been living on a trimmed budget for the household these last two years, reduced unnecessary subscriptions, better multi meal planning, etc. So the odd night out, day trip will still be possible.

Somebody should start a carpool thread.

Split the cost of fuel between multiple fuckers.

As in people fucking…

I’m sure one of the secret married guys on here will have a minivan.

More bums on seats.

I’m a problem solver.

I don't have a swinging lifestyle. Don't go anywhere or do anything. I am worried about the fuel costs and food costs with four teens to feed.

This could be a long recession starting. I'm tired of the very high prices that some businesses have been gouging from our purses for some time .

Treats will be reduced for many of us

The cost of fuel will inevitably make people look for fun more local. Let's imagine I was considering a return visit to Club Play; £50 for fuel, £12 to park, then £25 entry, it adds up. Car share with a mate or female friend would have to be an option

Won't affect anything on here for me. But genuinely worried about how ill cope. Going to have to put my sons board up £20 a week and I'm feeling so guilty about it. But I'm penniless and he's going on 4 holidays abroad this year

It already has. We like to travel to clubs and with the cost of petrol rocketing it’s a bit less affordable than before. Luckily we’re in a fortunate enough position that it won’t stop us completely but we have started looking at clubs a bit closer to home.

We might have to start hitchhiking to get to clubs now
