Every door has a hinge or two containing bearings (wheels) then add all the wheels in motors and engines before you count wheels and there is only one winner.

"Every door has a hinge or two containing bearings (wheels) then add all the wheels in motors and engines before you count wheels and there is only one winner."

Is it a wheel though? What defines things as specifically a wheel for this specific question, anything that covers a doorway could be counted as a door. A cat flap could be a door if we break it down. A curtain could essentially be viewed as a door.

As OP says advent calenders have doors (no bearing hinges).

"Every door has a hinge or two containing bearings (wheels) then add all the wheels in motors and engines before you count wheels and there is only one winner."

Doors on millions of advent calendars don't have hinges. Bearings are not wheels.

Cruise ships have hundreds of doors and no wheels

Coffins have 2 doors

Every car has doors, but not many houses have wheels

It definitely needs precis definitions and scope, so that we are discussing the same things.

But windows and flaps are essentially doors, they are coverings that allow access to an area. A trapdoor is a door.

If a door is a surface hinged/articulated against another, then nature is cram full of them.

If a wheel is a surface rotating around an axle (and even if you include a bearing as a wheel) there are no natural examples.

Any creature with a circualtory or hydraulic system has multiple valves (doors). How many insects on the planet? Unless they each have shopping carts or office chairs, doors win hands down.

You might do... hinge leaf plate bends into a knuckle joint that rotates around a locking/central pin (or axle). High load hinges also have additional bearings and washers (more wheels). Engines have numerous gears, cogs, pullies, flywheels, washers and bearings. All wheels.

Still a *lot* more doors though...

Tch. Everyone knows eyes are windows...

eyelids are doors by definition just like the ostia in an ants heart - avg 4 pairs of teeny tiny doors in each of the conserative estimate of 10¹5 ants - and before we count any other insects or creatures like mammals that have a lot more.

Doors rule.

No, lots of platforms aren't the right height so still a step.

And in any case, how do you board trains with platforms at the bottom of steps (no lifts)?

Flaps on a plane do not articulate (close) against a fixed surface or sealed space. Labia majora and minora are there to protect/close off the urethra, vagina and clitoris. Perhaps french windows rather than a door. Agreed that individual styling may vary and most people do not lock them, but they certainly open when aroused

That's the problem isn't it. Does a cog count as a wheel due to it being well... Cog shaped. But does any kind of flap count as a door (because it technically is of you go far enough in to it).

The criteria and parameters set by the question are far too broad to even settle on an answer that could be defined.

My local station installed lifts, a couple of years ago, to make the platform accessible to all. I thought they had to do it through the DDA legislation.

If it’s called a wheel then it’s a wheel , a round biscuit clearly isn’t a wheel.

My advent calendar definitely has doors, as much as I’d love to open a different pair of flaps every day in December and eat something tasty from inside each , I can’t see it happening

...a round biscuit can be a wagon wheel - but it's still not a wheel, just like a rubber tyre off a car is not a wheel, its a tyre.

Cogs most definitely are wheels. They have axles (fixed or dynamic) and and can reduce friction or transfer energy. The teeth on a cog just assist grip. Think tread on your tyre but bigger.

Doors do not have to fit a human through to be a door - they are essentially a flap that prevents something from going somewhere when closed.
