If you do something like change your status and someone views your profile consistently it’s a giveaway.

^^^ true this, presumably if they want you to notice them noticing you then they won't be in ninja mode so you notice the views ... unless they've forgotten to switch it off and then they won't notice that you've not noticed they noticed
