Hate them! Means seeing some toxic family members that I’d rather avoid!

"Urgh, I'd rather hammer rusty nails into my own eyeballs...especially if it's a wedding "

I know that feeling. The family parties I've been to years ago were so boring.

My father, my children and my boyfriend are all the family I need. I don't want the toxicity of the others.

Hefty Hideaway

Love them. The only time we get together en masse is at a party. There are absolutely loads of us so it’s ever such good fun and I adore giggling and dancing the night away with my great aunts.

abruzzo Italy (and UK)

Not a fan to be honest, there’s not many family members I can bear to spend much time with so a group of them together is no fun.

On a mooch

Not something we have unless it’s a wedding or funeral, they are very few and far between. Never the whole family either, just bits.

It’s not something I normally enjoy as I’m the bridge between the battle sides, very draining.

Not going to lie. My heart sank when I saw the topic. In case it was someone with a family fetish

Wouldn't be the first time people on this site have brought that subject up with me

My family never really does any parties. Last one that would count would have been my own wedding in the late 2000s.

Wish we were all close nit and had parties but unfortunately my family is pretty weird and seperated.

My sister in laws family tend to have these big get togethers all the time, make a big spectacle of whatever the occasion is but they are all so fake, it's quite shocking.

The only blood relative that I ever want to see again, after all the trouble with my mother's will, is my father. He's 90 and he hates parties of any sort.

That’s so sad to hear. So many families argue over wills. But great Dad is still going strong. Mine will be 90 in a couple of years.
