What do people think.

Some people seem to think that in order to be confident you have to be the loudest in the room and speak your mind.

I disagree with this , you can be quitely confident, it's about knowing when and how to speak.

I believe often the loudest ones are the most insecure and studies shows those people often were misheard at a younger age.

Just a random thought and interested to hear your respectful views.

I'm a confident guy. Someone who likes to brag about their life to prove themselves. I don't need to prove myself so I stay quiet.

People Maybe have their confidence in different ways , you reach an age where you know your self worth for example a guy may work hard , be totally honest etc etc , nothing at all wrong with that .. nothing...but he knows in his heart and soul he'll never catch the eye of the lady that wants the guy with his boat or yacht , what lm trying to say is confidence comes in every shape or form , Money sometimes make a person confident, sport can , Music can , it all depends , everyone is different .

In a way you'd still need to feel confident in yourself.

You don’t need to be confident to invade another country.

Just have a bigger and better military.

The only thing stopping me from taking the Maldives is numbers.

For me confidence clearly comes from experience. So in my work I am pretty confident most of the time given 35 years experience. Sex, women and relationships is the polar opposite.

I worked for a guy years ago who said he was the most unconfident confident person ever.

he could come across externally not arrogant just totally confident but inside he was the total Opposite so doesn’t that mean confidence can be faked?

The invade part I never said which country was being invaded or who I was referring to ?

I totally fake my confidence, It is easier the less I know someone. If I want someone to know the real me I risk them not liking the less confident version.

I've seen it said on here with people describing themselves as strong and independent.

However my experience is that like most personality traits, if you have to continually tell others that you are a nice/strong/confident person it's usually a good sign that you are not.

Being the loudest person in the room/forum is often a side effect of fomo and a need for validation.

I know people who have been attracted to and/or married the loudest person in the room because they confused that with confidence. Every one of them regretted it.

Always taught that you have two ears and one mouth so they should be used in that ratio

Confidence is knowing when to speak but also equally knowing when to listen

I don't think it's about confidence, it's usually about validation. As humans we look to others for that reassurance of who we believe we are as a person. Usually the quieter one's in the room are content not caring about other people's opinions on them.
