Apparently the behaviours of these audiences are getting worse. Has anybody experienced this?

I mainly go to see rocky horror in the theatre so shout outs and and libs are part of the experience but I follow a lot of theatre people on twitter and it seems it's becoming a real issue.

Trouble is too many people think they're absolute legends and that everyone wants to hear what they've got to say.

If it's not part of the experience, keep your gob shut!

It's just people. Being their obnoxious selves.

I stopped going when the "audiance reaction" craze took hold in mainstream.

At the ballet the people in front of me kept rustling a box of Quality Street . When they put it down on the floor I gave it a big kick to move it out of their reach

Quite right. Some people really ought not to venture out to these things. Last time I was at the theatre, two pissheads were having a full on convo during the performance! Stay at home or stick to the cinema.

Brilliant!!

Food and alcohol shouldn't be allowed at theatres or cinemas.

North West

In contrast to the well behaved audiences of Shakespeare's era?! There's always been an element of naughtiness at such things.

But no, we've not experienced cinema related bad behaviour. The last film we saw was Sing 2 (kids film for our daughter) and it was just the usual children-related disturbances like needing the loo and dropping their sweets etc.

Mmm had a few bad experiences in the states with people being too loud.

Only bad one back home was when I fell asleep and woke up to a round of applause was a bit out of it so decided to get up and do a bow.

Laughter soon followed

Personally they seem better. I haven't witnessed as many trashed cinema screens as I used to. Maybe Covid has made us cleaner or I've just been lucky.

We went to the theatre twice in london last week. When we were leaving the floor was as bad as any football stand I have been to. Pool left massive amounts of rubbish and half filled drinks.
