Looking at buying a new car, but 2nd hand, from a car dealership.

Would be greatful for any tips, advice etc on all things from getting the price down and getting good deals, what to include in the deal etc. Place I am looking at is where I bought my last car. But is not necessarily where I will end up going.

Thanks.

Don’t fall for let me speak to my manager routine. You’ll end up paying the real value only and not get a good deal.

"How do I get a good deal?!"

Not sure that it’s the best time to be buying any car, either new or second hand, as a lack of new cars is pushing second hand prices up.

If you need to buy now, be prepared to walk away if you aren’t offered the price you want to pay, and if they want to sell the car to you, they will get in touch.

It’s a sellers market right now, so used car prices are at a premium.

You’d be better off finding exactly what model you want and playing dealerships off against one another - assuming you can find more of the car you want

Now is not the best time to get a good deal. I was looking for one last month and they wouldn't budge on the sticker price.

The problem is there is a world wide shortage of new cars do the cost of second hand ones have raised

To save money, then the only option is to buy at auction. It's where the dealers buy.

If you end up buying a pup, then simply send it back to auction. You'll likely make a loss, but you could make a profit. It's what the dealers do.

If you end up buying a minter, then you're in profit. It's what the dealers do.

Hope that helps.

Anyone used Cazoo or any of the other lot? Any good. Anything to watch out for?

Do they do all the finance checks and car health checks etc.
