"I personally wouldn't run or cycle afterwards. But that would also apply if I hadn't been tattooed. " ![]()

"Cheers for that, not the first to say it that’s why I’m now getting a bit anxious Got some emla cream and it’s only a fine line 6” tat" I've never used numbing cream as I'm weird and like the pain a bit but apparently it's good. I might try it when I get a sensitive area done though

"Everyone has different opinions but here's my tip. Clean it regularly with fragrance free baby lotion for the first few days, apply bepanthen ointment and cover it with cling film. It'll help with healing and stop the ink running onto your clothes and bed sheets. Wear and old t-shirt to bed in case the cling film comes away too ![]() They changed the formula for bepanthen so it's not generally recommended for tattoos anymore. Just be sensible with it op. Clean regularly with warm water and unscented soap. For the first few days you'll want a barrier cream on go prevent things getting in to the wound. Don't use moisturizer until it's scabbed over as that may push ink out. Anything overly strenuous that gets the blood pumping may also affect the ink in the skin. Any tattoo artist I've been to has not encouraged covering with cling film longer than a few hours....something to do with plasma collecting under it, I dunno. I'm so ready for a new one!

"Afternoon! Getting my first tattoo on Monday, What’s the crack with running or cycling onthe days after? And anything I need to do to protect it? It’s going on the inside of my bicep. Thanks" Cycling should be fine if you keep your hands on the handle bar. Running might rub and get painful or even infected. I work a physical job with lots of movement and I went straight to work after getting my arm tattooed and it healed fine.
