So saddened to hear Australian cricket legend Shane Warne passed aged just 52.

An awesome character and as Aussie as a Tim Tam.

I genuinely couldn't believe what I had read, I'm in total shock.

RIP to an absolute legend. Everyone will talk about the ball of the century but his delivery to Strauss in the Ashes will always stick in my memory. Genius!

I met him once at the WACA when I lived Perth, he held so much respect in Australia not only for being the best spin bowler ever but one of the countries brightest stars.

Loved a beer, a smoke, a Sheila and knocking over us Poms. Mr Australia even down to the spare tyre.

Hang that Gatting ball in the Louvre.

RIP Warnie, your talent was mesmerising and you played the game hard but fair. You possessed that rare ability to overcome team loyalties because your greatness transcended the game. Gone too soon

Finedon ,

Sadly another Austrialan cricket legend in the form of Rodney Marsh passed away yesterday at the age of 74.

Probably the most successful wicket keeper of all time and the only wicket keeper to make a test century

A Black day for Aussie cricket, may they both Rest in Peace.

Just completely numb, only 12 hours previously he'd posted on social media about the passing of rodney marsh.

But one thing I'll guarantee is he'll be spinning in his grave.

RIP Warney.

He was the first Aussie to do it, but a fair few keepers achieved it before & since.

My all time favourite Shane Warne memory, was watching him in his early career, with my Nan. I was a bit young to understand Test Cricket at the time. She was very much the English Lady, but as soon as ‘Warner!’ started terrorising England batsmen, she’d say “I fucking hate that man when he does this”

It was the only time I’d ever heard my nan swear.

RIP Shane Warne considered by Wisden cricket book to be one of the 5 greatest cricketers of the last century and of course the ball of the century that got Mike Gatting out who at the time was considered one of the best batsmen at playing spin bowling

Sad news. I have sat and watched this man in the flesh right before my eyes turn matches and even whole Tests with just one or two overs of his incredible bowling. Usually against my team too!

52 not a good innings though, not even for a bowler.

RIP Warney you absolute, absolute legend!

RIP certainly the greatest spin bowler to date! A man all non Ausies, hated, feared and respected in equal measures!

Watched him play a few times, and met him fleetingly at a charity dinner in London, (I have to admit I was more interested in Liz H at the time)

All in all he was an icon and a legend, and won't be forgotten!

I was truly saddened to hear of his passing at the tender age of 52 , l attended a concert in the RAH in London a few years ago and he passed me by , l have absolutely no interest in Cricket at all , none , but to say that he left an impression on me by just walking by a few feet away from me all l could say was " wow there's Shane Warne the Australian Cricketer " it just went to show that even though l know nothing about Cricket l knew straight away who he was , he touched so many people with out probably knowing it , 52 , way too young , may he RIP , #LEGEND#
