Land let down yet again

I have been taking to a couple on here for some time and we finally decided to do a hotel meet after meeting for a social .The meet was tonight so I waited until the last moment to book the hotel .

I booked it yesterday in Summerset so was very confident it would happen.

They have now bailed at the last minute saying they can't make it with no real valid reason.

I told them I was booking it and it was non refundable ,they told me to go ahead yesterday.

I am really annoyed, mostly with myself for trusting them

They don't have to give a valid reason. Life happens.

Have you ever met them in real life? Likely a man wanking over your weeks of sex chat.

Call the hotel and see if they can do a refund anyway.

Happened twice to Tony with a lady friend who wanted to carry on with him alone after twice meeting us as a foursome. TWO hotels cancelled . Turned out it was behind her partners back and she then claimed to mutial friends that Tony was coming on too strong ! (utter lie, she was the driving force)

We did have a social a few weeks ago and they seemed really keen.

Even when I said If I book the hotel it's none refundable,they actively encouraged me to book it

Same. Shit happens. I've had long time friends cancel the day before due to covid. Room refunded.
