How am I supposed to remember that. It was way back 24 hours ago? I seem to remember something about taking a Hermiony Granger to school. Passed an impressive cat in a hat walking in. And the lollipop lady was dressed as a chicken.

There was no dressing up for book day, as it was just a normal school day.

Just over there

My 'kids' are grown up now so I didn't think I'd have to ever face the early morning panic of Book Day again....

But no. My daughter is training as a teacher so I was woken at 5.30am to enjoy, once again, putting an outfit together in panic! 2 hours later Pinocchio walked out the door

That’s more of a magazine character than a book though isn’t it

The Gruffalo was released in 1999. Did you really dress up like that when you were 14 or 15?!

My headteacher was definitely pocketing the cash. There’s no way he drove that car on a primary school teachers salary.

I'm sick of the number of themed dress up days at primary school nowadays. There's at least two per half term FFS. I don't recall ever doing anything more complicated than a non uniform day with a colour theme e.g. wear a red top. And it was for a 20p donation.

The next "non uniform" day at our daughter's school comes with instructions to bring in an Easter Egg. *Wonders if a single Creme Egg counts*

It's a lot better than a lot of the stupid shite I had to do for school. Celebrating books is no bad thing
