It looks like it might finally be showtime once again for our favourite ghost with the most as it's been reported that Brad Pitt's production company Plan B is set to produce the long awaited sequel to Beetlejuice with Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder reprising their roles.

If this is true and Beetlejuice 2 does finally go into production, who is looking forward to seeing this sequel?

Looking forward to the nostalgia and seeing the characters back on the screen? Yes very much.

Other than that, meh. I expect it won't really have all that much to it in terms of writing effort and quality.

As much as I enjoyed Ghostbusters: Afterlife, it was essentially nothing more than a nostalgia trip recreating the first movie with a few twists. Other than the ending having a bit of heart to it (and it was nice to see) it was not all that special. Same with The force Awakens, story wise in what we were given, it didn't need to be made. So as for BJ2 (not porn!) I won't hold my breath for quality story.

I'm sure he'll return as director.

This is very true. Let's just hope they don't try and emulate what GB Afterlife did otherwise it wouldn't work.

I just came up with a really cool idea for a Beetlejuice sequel.

Let's say Lydia's eldest teenage daughter winds up in the Netherworld after finding the Book of the Recently Deceased and gets captured by big bad villain so Lydia, her teenage son and Babara Maitland (who is now the new counsellor replacing Juno) call on Beetlejuice to help them save her.

I've just heard that the sequel is possibly set for release in June 2025.

Not sure if this official but we'll have to wait and see.

I'm just putting this out there now and say it will be a steaming pile of shit.

Apart from TopGun 2 which I have heard is actually good.

Have you ever, ever seem a sequel to an 80s or 90s film that has been remotely worth watching?

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Presumably you'd disallow Casino Royale as a sequel to The World Is Not Enough?
