It was in Shropshire. And if one bites you I believe you'll be a bit sore.

They've found a lot of coronaviruses in Asia with similarities to Covid. Spillovers are likely to happen in future, yes.

European Bat Lyssavirus is the only disease that UK bats carry that is transferable to humans, with only one recorded case.

So don't worry there are thousands of more likely ways you will die...

It's not worth it they do checks now before any building work start in areas in wich bats are roosting so the conservation people no if there are bats there before the builder does! if they turn up and find that the bats have been deliberately destroyed then your in big trouble its a criminal offence

I've been bitten by a false black widow. It's like a wasp sting!! Not pleasant but didnt kill me.

As far as I know, I dont have any super powers

As for bats.... leave them alone. They've been persecuted for centuries thanks to 'Dracula movies'. They do no harm what so ever. They wouldn't be living in our buildings if we didn't go round destroying their natural habitats.

My worry is that your sequence of events would suggest that humans are consuming humans.

So the poisonous bat is attacked by a blood sucking spider. That is what these buggers do. If anyone has squished a spider with a newspaper they will know that their abdomen is squishy and full of blood after a kill..

Then the buggers sink their fangs into a human..

Bingo.. Wuhan all over again...should we eradicate the bats or the spiders ?

I can honestly say I have never paid particular attention to an abdomen after a successful kill.
