My personal preference is chubby to large/BBW. But, like most preferences it isn't exclusive. I have a thing for women with wobbly bums...shapely legs...hourglass figures...an Irish accent...intelligence...green eyes...

It all just depends on how much I've had to drink!

I wonder if todays men prefer bbw than years ago. Am going back to the 1980ties and i remember the insults myself and a friend got because of being bigger ladies. We were both a size 22/24 then.never had a partner, and i even got told that men woudnt want me because of my size.i once got told by one guy to lose weight then he would consider going out with me.shocking.

I actually detest labels - be it in relation to size, sexual preference or what not - we are all just humans, we all have imperfections and attributes that makes us who we are - how about we stop sticking labels onto people and just appreciate everyone’s different!

I see what you mean but to be fair you’re neither big nor very very slim. I like these threads because I like to see which men prefer more curvier/bigger women. We are all humans yes but people do have preferences and it’s good to see them. There may be people I wouldn’t have dreamt of messaging as I wouldn’t have thought they’d prefer curvier women. I often have a red through the BBW thread to see who’s commented. I also look through the slim threads and make notes on the ones who prefer slim/small boobs etc so I know not to contact them. Personally I like these kind of threads x

Thankyou but I’m a good size 16. I’m not sure what classes as a BBW but being tall also I am quite big! Not many pics of my tummy in my pics. I've been having a think about this and thought I'd simplify how it works to save any confusion.

I reckon the groupings are as follows:

1. Too skinny.

2. Teeeeeny, tiny wee sweet spot where you get it all right. Should have big boobs, round bum, washboard stomach, long legs but thighs must be thicc, calves toned and ankles dainty. No bones nor any hint of a lump or bump can be detectable. Must also have pretty face.

NB. Should any of the above be achieved through cosmetic enhancement, you're disqualified as you must now be predominantly referred to as fake, plastic or a bimbo.

3. Should you fail to fall into either of the above categories your new prefix for everything is 'big' - big beautiful woman/big fat cow.

Don't worry though, by the time you're about 40 it's all about your age anyway, so you can look forward to Milf/Gilf/Cougar/haggard or just being invisible.

Pick your label ladies

Gym fit / Slim through to proportionally curvy (classic hour glass).

Dress size range of roughly size 8 to 18.

I understand this and Nora's reply. It is instinctive to categorise people, whether that's scruffy/smart or old/young, friendly/grumpy we all do it all the time. I am with you on the labels though. I'm not a fan of telling people how my mind has labelled them unless they ask though - and make a conscious effort to see past any labels I have.

When it comes to attraction, we all have certain body types or looks that work for us - every other profile includes a description of the ideal candidates shape/size.

Nora has flagged up one of the biggest problems with labels in that they are totally subjective. I suspect if she's reading through BBW threads to find men who may like what she perceives as her body type she could be missing a lot of guys for whom BBW means something totally different to what she thinks of it as.

Also the thread title - skinny is offensive its the equivalent of saying fat versus slim.

So the thread title really should be BBW versus Slim.

Just to add woman can be be a size 8 and have fantastic curves so women can be curvy whether the fall on the size spectrum.

It's interesting the amount of discussion around labeling and what is/isn't acceptable, what words people find demeaning etc. I just hope all the posters put these same responses on the next thread about the ideal height or cock size for a man - especially given these are both things that no one has any control over unlike body shape where we all have a degree of control.

There should be a new height/cock size thread in the next 15 mins or so it's been a while ...

G here. I'm saying slim, not skinny or anorexic but just love a small ass.

I'm not everyone's cup of tea and not everyone is mine, I'm not offended when told so and not sure why people get so bent out of shape over it. Seems to be that beauty no longer seems to be in the eye of the beholder but in the eyes of what is socially acceptable.

Can't say I care what is socially acceptable. And yes, small with a good personality, I'm sure everyone wants that.

"It's interesting the amount of discussion around labeling and what is/isn't acceptable, what words people find demeaning etc. I just hope all the posters put these same responses on the next thread about the ideal height or cock size for a man - especially given these are both things that no one has any control over unlike body shape where we all have a degree of control.

There should be a new height/cock size thread in the next 15 mins or so it's been a while ...

Mr

I’m guilty of the height thing but it’s MY issue not theirs. I’ve never been happy with my height. I’ve always said it’s the one thing I’d change. I’m the one who doesn’t feel comfortable with someone shorter than me. I wish I did but I don’t.

In all honesty I don't get bothered by those threads, I'm lucky enough to be over the magic 6 foot mark and well, without making a fuss, I'm happy with what I have down there.

In fairness to yourself, you say you like these threads as they let you select people who will be interested. I can't be bothered/I'm not petty enough to back check every post about labels to see if the author uses them in their profiles or has commented on their preference of height/hairyness/dad bod figure/cock size etc. It's more that those threads almost never have ladies protesting about word choice whilst this kind invariably does.

Mr

What word choice around height and cocks do you think we should be protesting? "

I don't think you *should* be protesting about anything, you can say what you like in those threads. Then again, I don't think you *should* protest about words like skinny, BBW or fat.

I'm merely pointing out that there is a big difference between the type of answers on a thread that asks men what their preferred body shape/size/colour/scent/hairyness is than one that asks women the same.

To me bbw snd skinny are 2 extremes. Personally I prefer slimmer women, when it comes to curvy women I have to see pics (face and body) because curvy women in the UK means something totally different to curvy women, back home in the Caribbean where I'm from, for example, Scarlett Johanson, Jennifer Lopez would be considered curvy, a woman with a big tummy or her tummy over her breasts is fat. I don’t believe in fat shaming, but everyone has a right to their preference as well as their lifestyle.

For me I'm more turned on by small, slim, petite women, yes I love a big butt and nicely shaped boobs, but a petite figure does it for me.

The interesting thing is that guys can't change their height or their dick size (the average guy, not a rich one who can afford surgery on their dick) but women can change their weight.

Also the body positivity movement is seriously gender skewed, because you don't hear about plus size male models do you?

Just something to think about.

I agree, but not every woman needs to be appreciated by every guy and the body positivity movement seems to be trying to force all guys to find all women, specifically all plus size women, beautiful when they clearly never will.

If I'm not into someone I'm happy with just saying no, I don't need to justify my decision. And neither do women when it comes to not finding me attractive.

Women should be treated on how they carry themselves in comparison to what you want. Likewise for men.

Its about how a person, male or female, treats you and others in general and also when it comes to your individual wants and needs.

I don't like the idea of appreciating someone just because they are a physical entity or have certain characteristics. I.e female, male, black, white, big, small etc. Appreciating someone should be more holistic than looks alone.

I find the terminology interesting. Large women are referred to as BBW’s, so all of them are beautiful. But at the other end of the scale (per OP), we have “skinny” women. Not skinny beautiful women?

The perception I get is that all women are beautiful as long as they are big. Slim /skinny ladies don’t seem to have the same plaudits poured their way. Why is that?

I know it’s only a pop song, but Megan traynor’s song, all about that base celebrates larger women, but rather than celebrating all women, it vilifies slim ladies as “skinny bitches”.

To me, this is a massive double standard ... automatically beautiful if you’re big, but fair game to be vilified as a bitch if you’re small.

"I don't mind size of person it's more the confidence in their figure "

Same here. A confident lady who is comfortable in her own skin, is dead sexy.

I find the highest proportion of women who fit that description among the portion of the population that could be described as “athletic” rather than simply being slim. Ie can be a very light build or a large powerful build, but i find that athletic women are usually more confident about their bodies .

Same for me, when I am at my fittest and strongest, I know that I feel more comfortable, feel more confident, carry myself differently.

You’re going to have to explain the bit about women who have their belly on top of their tits. I can’t even visualise that.

For the belly to be big enough to reach over the tits, the tits would probably be huge too so the belly wouldn’t be able to reach over them.

Do you have any examples of this phenomenon that you can share with us?

Or was the other poster correct, ther this can only be achieved if the woman is upside down?

I thought the background to BBW was because slim women for many years have been the standard and receive a lot of appreciation. The BBW label was just a way of ensuring that the more voluptuous ladies were recognised too. After all the majority of women we see in magazines and ads are slim - it's the default beauty standard.

I think that assumes that slim women recognise themselves in those magazine ads.

What people often object to isn't big women being called beautiful. It's the unfavourable comparisons other women receive.

By all means give affirmation but not by tearing someone else down. If there's a universal balancing scheme you just cancel the positive.

I don't assume slim women recognise themselves - I was just adding some context to how we got here, I guess. I like that Fab is very body positive for people. It's perfectly possible to appreciate a bigger woman without putting others down. Comments or messages like "at last, a real woman" should get short shrift!

Exactly, this thread showed it completely, by having a tag that all large women are beautiful. And well, skinny… those are just skinny women and should be fine with that because tv and media has picked a certain type of woman (a type of woman who’d be beautiful regardless of shape because actresses and models are just objectively beautiful to look at - they just have good genetic make up)

Also.

I mean not to kick up a fight, but larger men certainly don’t get any positive affirmations. They probably get the worst of it all , just saying

Seems you can’t do anything these days without upsetting someone

Even a compliment like beautiful is enough to set people off

Sticks and stones may break my bones but insults, compliments, descriptions or anything between will cause me to have a mental break down

"I thought the background to BBW was because slim women for many years have been the standard and receive a lot of appreciation.

Oh ok.

Tbf Kylie, someone else came up with BBW (not just this thread!!) and it doesn't take away from other women. Skinny is a word that doesn't need to be seen as negative. I think you've misconstrued what I said. BBW was just a movement to give bigger women some appreciation at a time when they weren't getting it. It's now used as a label. And actresses and models ARE partly lauded because of their shape because they fit society's ideal. I feel like this has all been said before and does it really matter anyway? Some men like some women regardless of their shape or because of it and vice versa. You're right about bigger guys though.

To be fair, just because someone has a specific shape doesn’t particularly get the beauty card handed over.

But that’s just my opinion "

I agree completely with the sentiment, and object to the term BBW being applied willy nilly.

However, I also object to "big", "curvy" and "fat" being used to all mean the same thing, as they don't.

Big is a size. Curvy is a shape. And fat is technically a thing, although as it is and has been used as an adjective for quite some time, that's probably a different discussion.

I'm big, because I'm tall and large all over. I'm fat, I'm also curvy and I'm sure as shit not beautiful. I'm also not "meat on the bone".

I don't object to these threads, because everyone has preferences, including me. But dear god. If you're going to fling labels around at least make them a bit more accurate ffs.

And "fat", "skinny"... if we all stopped taking offense at these simple words, those using them to cause offence wouldn't have any power.

A fairly negative observation

If you don’t like the extra affirmation why don’t you add an affirmation of your own to however you identify? Instead of trying to tear down someone else’s?

Sexy slim senorita?

In a world where we keep telling everyone to be kind, surely that’s the observation to have?

I actually rarely take offence because I only really care what people I love think but if I'm going to raise an eyebrow it's time and the context words are used in that will do it, not the actual words themselves.

I always say this, it is rarely about what is being said but how it is being said that goes a hell of a long way to not causing issues. Some people, will still find fault but a much fewer people in comparison.

More often than not posts similar to this will generally ask who prefers X or Y, the OP prefers X but will then add in a slight (or blatant dig at Y. Sometimes quite an insulting dig too.

I agree with what you said here posh. And the description of size, shape etc

Nothing to object really. Regarding stop taking offence, guess it’s easier said than done because everyone has their weak spots I guess.

I’m no way skinny now, (thank fuck) but I did have a time where I also had my problems with food, and I was very skin and bones and didn’t recognise it

Obviously I wasn’t seeing it, as I was too concerned on why I’d still have some belly fat when sitting down.. but yeah, it is a weak spot now that I recognise the signs.

La la land

Have read some not all of this thread. And the term BBW to me just a porn label. Does anyone use BBW outside of a sexual context? I've never heard it, oh my best mate Fanny Craddock is an amazing BBW. You don't go shopping for BBW clothes you go shopping for plus sized shopping, if you're lucky that shop caters to your size in the first place.

Being BBW doesn't make you beautiful, doesn't say your size is what others should aspire to or anything else like that. It's a quick easy way to look for the porn, pictures of women you are attracted to.

Why we constantly have to pit different body shapes against each other is beyond me. You can be attracted to a body type without bringing down another.

"I find the terminology interesting.

To be fair, I always wondered why BBW stood for big beautiful woman.

Thought for ages the second B was referred to the colour of her skin. Like BBW or BWW

But why is one just skinny or slim and the other is big beautiful.

Almost feels like an extra affirmation to me, that seems to be unnecessary

Yeah how dare those greedy little BBWs get an E tea affirmation!

I agree. No idea why larger ladies get that extra B for free and are automatically deemed to be beautiful, but ladies of other physiques don’t.

And in celebrating order ladies as automatically being beautiful, this often stays into demonising petite ladies ... eg the “skinny bitches” like I referred to.

Just imagine if that song was the other way around, celebrating women with a taut midriff and firm ass and then slagging off “flabby bitches” in the next verse! There’d be uproar!

The slim vs Bbw thing isnt a double standard

But i agree with you that the term 'skinny' isnt used very fairly here (I personally would never refer to someone as skinny as I feel it holds negative connotations)

Slimmer women are societies idea of the ideal woman, lots of them are actually seem as being more attractive simply because they are slim, where as in real life big women don't have that luxury.

It's just a phrase which doesn't actually mean that all big women are beautiful, the same way that the term BBC is used when in reality not all black men have big penis, nor does penis size have any colleration to race.

That's what I'm saying. If everyone could do that then there might be a little less offence taken over things.

I call one of my best friends a "skinny twat" because he is what I'd call skinny. I find him sexy as all hell and that is in a big part to do with his body.

There are women on here that I'd call skinny, and I find them sexy as hell. The first woman I was ever attracted to I'd say is skinny, and dear lord just thinking about her makes me come over all warm and fuzzy.

I've always been upfront about the fact that I don't use fat as a negative word and I object to it being used as such. Same goes for skinny.

I've always said you're very wise NC, and once again you've proved why

Hip hop demonises larger women? I don’t think so . If anything, the opposite. Although they refer to all women of all shapes in disgraceful terms.

I’m referring to middle of the road music. If Ed sheeran’s next song was about nice slim girls with firm arses, and contains descriptions of feb alternatives in derogatory terms (eg fat bitches), then Loose Women would be on fire taking him down

How dare they!

To be fair, just because someone has a specific shape doesn’t particularly get the beauty card handed over.

But that’s just my opinion

Literally hundreds of songs across multiple genres that talk down on fat women so not sure what point you're trying to make here? "

For example?

My point, in case it wasn’t clear, is that it is possible to celebrate one body type without shitting on others.

"I find the terminology interesting.

Yes of course its possible but there are more songs fat shaming women than there are songs slim shaming women

I don’t suppose you’ve listened to much hip hop?

You’ve got about 25 years of extremely misogynistic and often violent music that objectified every body type

No uproar yet

Hip hop demonises larger women? I don’t think so . If anything, the opposite. Although they refer to all women of all shapes in disgraceful terms.

I’m referring to middle of the road music. If Ed sheeran’s next song was about nice slim girls with firm arses, and contains descriptions of feb alternatives in derogatory terms (eg fat bitches), then Loose Women would be on fire taking him down "

Just as many people listen to it as they do to Ed Sheeran

It actually isn't clear because you are giving a one sided argument.

Using perfect 10 for example a song from 1998 over 20 years ago isn't much of an argument. In the context of the 90's where hero in chic was all the rage with Kate Moss look being popular and what you should aspire to be. The song perfect 10 was a reaction to that pressure to look like that. You focused on one phrase of a song, instead of "cause we love our love, in different sizes". I very much doubt those lyrics would be written today.

There are planty songs on both sides. Its just whether or not its socially acceptable to say it or not these days.

People can be beautiful at any size, this is true. But people can also be ugly and unattractive at any size too.

People can be stunningly attractive yet have a truly ugly personality, and vice versa.

The problem is when we start lying to ourselves and expect the world to accommodate that lie.

Fat is beautiful, only to some.

Skinny is beautiful, only to some.

All lives matter, yes, they do, everyone's life matters, who's doesn't?!

If you don't agree with me then its a hate crime and you need educated, wtf??

All that really needs to happen is for people to be nice to each other regardless of size, shape, race, sex, sexual orientation etc. Just be nice to each other. Being a victim doesn't help you or the world become a better place. It makes it a lot worse.

Just wanna be that bitch who says.. btw media thrown at ALL of us, images of women who are highly unachievable. Not only body wise, but beauty wise.

You definitely had slim or skinny women look in the mirror and think “maybe if I’ll lose some more and avoid eating at night, I’ll be beautiful and look just like Kate Moss (or insert another slim lady)”

Well, clearly that’s not the case even (even if they tried) for majority of women out there, whether slim or skinny or curvy or larger sized, regardless of size.

Obviously nowadays the beauty standard has changed and it’s Kim Kardashian and curvy women with tiny waists and huge backs to be the ones leading the game in the media

I totally agree with you. What I meant was that being called anorexic back then was sometimes used as compliment. I once upon a time massively thin in the 90's, with an eating disorder to match. And I still thought I was fat. I guess I've been on both sides, I've been incredibly thin, I've been much much bigger than I am now. So I've had it at all angles at some point in my life. But personally I found when I was a lot larger, people treated me the worst. Being called fat bitch etc when just walking down a road hurts. The presumption I was lazy and thick and that somehow my weight affected my ability to do my work. These are my personal thoughts and experiences. But for me my life is easier when I am slimmer.

If you really look at the lyrics, it’s saying that they love their love in different sizes ... except slim. "

You're really hung up on this one song and seem to be completely dismissing the songs that talk down on fat women

Far more song out there that compliment slimmer women than dont

"Is there no in between option?"

Exactly, and not sure I've ever gone for anything in particular, it's not where my head goes to when looking to meet. I think about not clicking, potential for drama, wasting my time, planning travelling, what do we want to happen when we meet..

where the world takes me

When I was young and immature I used to put a lot of stock on the size and shape of a person, as I got older I realised body shape has absolutely zero correlation with sexiness or attraction.

The brain and the mind are the most important thing, and people who rigidly stick to one “type” are missing out on so much fun and pleasure

"I find the terminology interesting.

How dare they!

To be fair, just because someone has a specific shape doesn’t particularly get the beauty card handed over.

But that’s just my opinion

Uproar?

I don’t suppose you’ve listened to much hip hop?

You’ve got about 25 years of extremely misogynistic and often violent music that objectified every body type

No uproar yet

Hip hop demonises larger women? I don’t think so . If anything, the opposite. Although they refer to all women of all shapes in disgraceful terms.

I’m referring to middle of the road music. If Ed sheeran’s next song was about nice slim girls with firm arses, and contains descriptions of feb alternatives in derogatory terms (eg fat bitches), then Loose Women would be on fire taking him down

Lots of rap and hip hop songs talking down on fat women

And why wouldn't you class hip hop as 'middle of the road' ?

Just as many people listen to it as they do to Ed Sheeran

Hip-hop is not middle of the road. If you think it is, then you don’t know what middle of the road music is.

Yes, hip-hop is mainstream. But it is not middle of the road.

I don't know what middle of the road is hence why I asked the question "

It’s pop, light rock etc . Nothing edgy or niche

Chesterfield

I don’t care either way. It’s more about attitude.

Literally hundreds of songs across multiple genres that talk down on fat women so not sure what point you're trying to make here?

For example?

My point, in case it wasn’t clear, is that it is possible to celebrate one body type without shitting on others.

I gave perfect 10 as an example because I had previously quite All About That Base, and had been told “that’s only one song”.

No, I am not obsessed with perfect 10.

I’m still waiting for examples of songs that do the opposite, lauding slim girls and slagging off big girls, despite being assure that there are hundreds. Best anyone had managed is to mention hip-hop, on the basis that it debases all women, but web then the centre typically lauds big girls.
