Does anyone else have their ups and downs on here.

Sometimes you love it and sometimes you want to have a break..

I have a feeling its common..

I absolutely do. I've been floating on and off here since I made the profile. Don't think the Rona situation has helped in that

OP you certainly aren't alone in that, I think most of us feel the same way at times.

I take breaks, sometimes for days, sometimes for weeks. I do now use other sites where it feels less fraught and use this site just for the socials and a bit of light entertainment in the forum.

I think we all find our own way around the site and end up each finding a different way to use it that suits.

But yes, such as life, it has its moments of pleasure and pain. But the trick is to enjoy the best bits and roll with the bad.

We only get one life so best enjoy the ride. So to speak.

i joined to possibly find a nice lady as a friend or more but most have age ranges that very few can make contact so very often i feel as if i am beating my head against a wall,,

or i put up a status asking a certain type of meet and others ask for something totally different i always thought we are all in the same boat looking for like minded people and a lot of the time all i get is grief..

which does not do my depression a lot of good

Yeah, I have been guilty of this myself and to be honest, on a daily basis at times.

The key to this is to not use the site as a validation of your existence. It's a lesson that sometimes even now after my 'reform' I struggle with

I think this is my 4th? Profile. I really need to stop getting so fed up I delete it as I lose all veris, notes and block list!

It common but it's great when you find someone you connect with,unfortunately the downside can be they are miles away but not always..

I have met & made friends with a lot of people,on here some of whom I can't wait to meet if the opportunity arises..

Yes, I've not met much since rejoining due to health issues. But on my previous profile I'd often go in fits and starts. I'd meet 5-25 people over a 4-6 week period and then take a break for a few weeks and then do it again. Xx

In future just hide your profile and take a break. Everything is still there when you come back.

I think we all have our "moments", whatever the circumstances might be. But often it's just real life getting in the way, and probably like most in here, the last two years haven't helped

Personally, I've been moving around quite a bit, as I'm now contracting work, rather than in a permanent position, so I'm less settled than before, and less likely to be comfortable about meeting up with anyone.

So I've been having more mini breaks than anything else
