Once again, having meandered through the boulevard of broken dreams in ye olde London town, it was difficult to ignore the cavalcade of effeminate shoppers and lounge-lizards all strutting proud in their footwear.

So Ladies/Binaries/Whateveries of the Fab Fora/Forums: how do you comfortably adorn your feet when socialising: boots, heels, stilettos, flats; Next, M&S, Manolo Blahnik, Clarks, John Lewis, Christian Louboutin, ZARA, TK Maxx...

Don't be bashful. Be proud!

In my high heel days it would have been YSL, Gucci, LV, Jimmy Choo and Sergio Rossi with some Prada sprinkled in. They all still reside in my closet waiting for me to lose 50 stone.

Now I live in Tory Burch flats during the week or Hampton Canvas flats at the weekend.

I'm not a brand collector, more of a unique shoe collector, nothing higher than a 2" though. Being 6ft 2 is plenty high enough for me

Mainly T bar court shoes with a mary Poppins esc look in various styles and textiles

During the daytime I wear flats, walking boots/country boots, trainers.

If I’m actually going out, it’ll be stilettos or heeled boots.

I’m not particularly drawn to any brand, it’s a cost thing normally.

I love ankle boots. Or wedge heels - I fall over otherwise.

Not fussed about the brand, but they have to be leather. I refuse to wear a plastic shoe - even if they are now marketing synthetic shoes as "vegan friendly" x

I live in Chelsea boots and trainers, I have soooo many but New Balance are my go to for comfort.

I adore killer heels but I can't remember when I last lasted a night in them without swapping out for flip flops!

I pretty much exclusively wear DCs, walking boots, winter boots, sneakers, trainers. I just love the brand and the styles. Been wearing DCs before i was 20. Theres only a couple pairs of shoes that i wear that arent DCs but thats just cos i liked how they looked

Im pretty bad when it comes to shoes though, im like the classic shoe loving woman who would happily have an entire closet dedicated to shoes

Right now i have 7 pairs of shoes, one for each occasion ranging from walking boots to smart black leather shoes

When I’m at work it’s sensible but smart court shoes which the heels get trashed driving in them so replaced often

Going out in heels - Dune, Prada, Lucy Choi etc. I’m not a fan of big designers Jimmy Choo, Louboutin etc they are not meant to be worn outdoors! If at all

At home - flats or a pair of red leather Loretta walking shoes which are like slippers .. or my slippers

Oh, I love shoes

I own far too many pairs (although not as many as I used to after a clear out), ranging from "comfortable and practical" to "really pretty and my feet will recover later". What I wear depends entirely on my outfit and what I'm doing.

I recently bought some Scarpa walking shoes that I've been hankering after for ages, and they're just as good as I imagined they would be, but they'll never replace my trusty Brasher boots. I have a pair of Louboutin and they are hands down the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever worn (plus I got the heel stuck down a grate last time I wore them so I now need to send them off for repair which won't be cheap ). I would like some Jimmy Choo at some point though, they're pretty.

I tend to be drawn to shoes that are a bit different, vintage/vintage style or something a bit quirky will usually catch my eye. I recently found a gorgeous pair of 1950s black and copper heeled brogues...I just need to find the right dress and bag to go with them.

One thing I will never, ever wear are flip flops...I detest that godawful slopping noise they make, and I prefer not to look at uncovered feet.

Bloody flip flops are dangerous and the most unsexy footwear ever! Suitable for by the pool only … crocs too!!

I live in a variety of decent trainers, cos of my special foot I can't wear heels anymore. A lot of my very sensible footwear is from Next or Clarks.

Unless it's absolutely freezing, I tend to mooch around in my abarcas, purchased from a shop in Mallorca. Super duper comfy. I don't think I wore anything else in our two weeks away in Tenerife, for example.

Having said all the above, shoes are optional when one conveys oneself without the feet actually striking the floor
